Nanothermite (high-tech explosives that release steel and iron-liquifying temperatures) are being found in the WTC dust--a finding that any Truth Commission that lived up to its name would verify. This is important because the number of groups that had access to such a large amount is few, meaning the list of possible suspects is very short. Any Truth Commission worth its salt would recognize that the NIST science does not live up to the standards of the scientific community. (Not releasing their simulation, ignoring certain types of evidence--like the iron-rich spheres, which very group to study the WTC dust has observed. Such spheres with their chemical make-up are a by-product observed in thermite reactions.)

I hope all the left wingers that are howling for a TRUTH COMMISSION are willing to suit up and defend this country against the next wave of terrorist attacks that i believe will come as a result of all the damage done by this irresonsible move on the part of Obama. I doubt it, they like to run their mouth but they never want to get in the line of fire... trying to get a left winger to focus on what is best for this country is like trying to change the front tire on a semi truch loaded with dynamite while it is running down the road at 80 miles an hour

Oh great. Like anyone in Congress would know what the truth is. Or should I say it depends on what the definition of truth is! Maybe we should let Bill Clinton head the commission and have Barney Frank and Chris Dodd be the members.

If we are going to have one for all administrations, sure. Starting with this one. Lets investigate ACORN and the ties to our current president. Lets look into who REALLY killed Marilyn Monroe and who REALLY shot JFK. Lets go back to 1947 and find out what really happened in Roswell, NM. Who knows what Harry Truman had to do with it.
Guys, this is all a democrat smokescreen and it is backfiring on them in amazing dimensions. Lets see how far they push to do this when it means describing what Pelosi and others knew at the time of "their outrage" LOL.
This government (republicans and democrats) could screw up a cup of coffee right now. Today we had a 747 flanked with f-16's buzz the statue of liberty that terrified NY workers.
So now our gov't is the terrorist? For a photo op?
Hope our militia's are in top notch, we need someone to defend us after all. I doubt these clowns "representing" us have a clue on much right now.

Yes, this would be a good idea. It should have authority and be independent of Congress and be as non political as possible with indictment powers. Members should come from all walks of American life. Its mission is to find the truth, learn from the truth, and punish those who have corrupt the good intent of the American way of life and reestablish moral norms. We the people must have confidence that the law and our standards of culture and civilization apply to all of us all of the time. The American people are a good and great people and cannot tolerate anyone distorting that goodness.

Actually, PEGGY, you are wrong - my answer would STILL BE 'no we cannot torture people in the United States of America' - and yes, I lost someone in 911 - so shame on YOU - for spouting nonsense! The only true test of a patriot is when his or her beliefs are tested under durress - so our former leaders FAILED to be patriots when they took the simple road rather than the ethical and true one. Herman Guerring once told Hitler that the best way to enslave a people was by telling them that they faced an outside threat to their survival, and that the simple minded would willingly cough up their civil liberties in the name of 'protection'.
