Do you have any idea that foreigners’ in this country own and run big businesses

That contribute to the economy? Can you take there job for the minimum wage?

Can you even be humble enough to do the job? Are you really American?

If you are Indian then I do apologize for the comment

L= excuses /Winner = solution (pick one) and have a nice day.

Alot of people ask immigrans Why don't you come here legally? well the reason is because you would only get a visa if you have bussiness, money, about 10-20 thousand in you bank acct+ other requirements. that is why people don't come legally.

I think that children who were brought here sence they were little should have the ability to work and specially to have a higher education. I don't thik is their fault of being here, because they " were brought here they did not came by themselves" that is why I think they should pass the Dream Act and not only for financial help but to have the ability to work and go to a University. There are alot of people who are paying for school and they don't ask for federal aid becuase they can't because they don't have a SS#.

there are 20 million illegals that are most of them are on food stamps, wic, medicaid, welfare, free education for their illegal children, free school lunch, government housing. how is this going to help the economy. if we do legalize them they will bring in another 20 million all of whom will be qualifying for food stamps because they will drop a kid as soon as possible. wake up america we dont need this invasion. they need to be deported, why do you say that 75% of voters want legalization for the 20 million, that s such a lie!

Oh, yeah I forgot to say that during my illigal stay in San-Fran, I was paying taxes.

If I had been sick or injured, I will have never been abble to get free healthcare...

So for those morons below who claim that they are paying taaxes for illigal immigrants, I'll be very curious to see how's that happen, since it is impossible to obtain a social security no if you are illegal, I wonder how you can get free healthcare.

Ask any illegal immigrant if they get free healthcare and you'll get the same answer.

American are getting healthcare paid partly by illigals immigrants who pay taxes without actually getting the benefices of those taxes.and I'm not talking about enemployment benefices that are paid in those taxes, but only goes in the pocket of unemployed american, who like to call themself hardworking.

Illegal immigrant are paying taxes without enjoying the benefices.

So for Kyle B of NC, you can shove up your ***** your rethoric as it is absolut non-sens.

I wouldn't be surprise if you where unemployed, voting mc cain, while bashing those who are paying in part for your lifestyle...you're a total hypocrite, an idiot, and a drag to you country.People like you caused this country to go down the sink, because instead of trying to work out solution you can only put on the blame on other countries and other people, rather than facing the fact that you are the problem.

I suggest that you should try to be a little more constructive for your country, stop whining about the very problem you created, and start solving them in intelligent ways that do not involve blamming others for your own crap.

Between illigals immigrants that pays taxes, trying to achieve teh american dream and white trash, neocon hipocrites the real american are the former not the later.

Get out of Redneck neocon white trash North Carolina, get a life, get a job, do something for your country and stop whinning about us who work hard and pay for your healthcare and unemployement benefice if any...

And I'd like to add futhermore..

SCREW YOU KYLE B.

Signed: A once illigal immigrant.

God bless America

I think this reform is most shortsighted and does not include much needed laws.

First of all, legalising all illigals immigrants is a temporary solution, but more could be done to the greater benefice of the USA.

Illigal immigrants first of all are considered by many as people coming to the USA stealing jobs from american...I was working illigally in San-Francisco for almost a year, and I never saw hard working american people queuing desesperatly for a waiter's job or diswashing, or removing furnitures from high end appartment.

Those jobs are a necessity.

The type of reform we need is various visa, all leading to a path of cityzenship.

VISA 1: There should be a guess working visa, where applicant will come and work in this country with a 2 or 3 years visa, and then will have the ability to renew one more time, to leave, apply for a different visa or to apply for a green card.

There could be an other visa, and I think this one will help solve the economic recession.

VISA 2: it could be an entrepreneur Visa, where immigrant could be granted a 5 years stay on the basis of starting a business, paying taxes and eventually employ people.

That in itself will bring thousands of entrepreneurs who cannot easyly start a business in their home country but will be willing to start it in the USA, therefore creating a new wealth flow.

VISA 3: the same as Visa 1, could help renewing the manufacturing sector in the USA and mostly help compete with china or india.

On the basis that immigrant will be paid exempted of taxes and offered various advantage like free community housing near their place of work but with a salary below "minimum wage".

i'm currently workign in China now, and the workers in factories are coming form poor area of china, work in factory for a year or two, send their saving to their families, and after 2 or 3 years return home.

They are housed gratuitly in domitories or special housing, have free meal i the factory, and most of the monney they earn is sent back to their family.

the same idea could definitly be applied in the USA, where low wages would help manufacturing low cost products who will be bought US buyers.

That will create high value jobs, as for running a factory you need at least a quate of the work force to administrate the factory, such as accountant, administrator, sales and so on.

So by creating low end jobs to immigrants it will create therefore high end jobs.

immigrants will be granted after a defined periods a new visa or a path to higher level visa, where they could bring their families start business, pay taxes, take any kind of jobs they want and so on.

Seems like a tough approach, but it is exactly what is nowadays to the differences that manufacturers have to employ immigrants at the risk of seeing an immigration raids shutting down their factory.

This will definitly help regaining manufacturing abilities and create new wealth.

Is it possible to pass comprehensive immigration reform within Obama's first year? Yes, as long as Congress realizes our economy problems are directly linked with our workforce, and our workforce is made up of immigrants (both legal and illegal). Economy problems cannot be solved without solving the immigration problems like increasing work visa and legalizing the undocumented population. These immigrants contribute greatly to our economy by spending as well as contributing their skills and labor. You may contact the author of this thread at http://www.sunglaw.com
