Meg Whitman says she wants to turn California around, but unless we quit giving sanctuary to every illegal alien - they are here illegally- and paying for all their health care, food , low income housing, taxes, etc. we are going to go under as a state! This is not a racial issue, its simply a matter of economical survival! I think that California ought to vote on this issue and all those in favor of giving amnesty to these people who are robbing us our livelyhood ought to foot the bill! If you want to give amnesty to illegals, then you pay for it!!

I haven't made up my mind about her yet. She seems to have good business sense but where does she stand socially?

I can't imagine anyone voting for gay marriage, these people don't need to get married they need to be medicated, find out what is wrong with them and fix it, don't increase the problem
by letting them get married .

its about time to end the hand outs at the cost of our states businesses both large and small. If I want to give my money away I'll decide who to give it to not the state.you bleeding heart liberals are killing us. You're great at giving away other peoples money.

My, I am amazed at these responses. It sounds like California needs someone with business experience. And, as for Republicans being willing to let poor people starve the reader should check it out. Conservatives are among the best givers and liberals are among the stingiest; a statistical fact.
I don't want to hear another liberal berate us for being hateful. They have the corner all to themselves.

And what will another Republican have to offer but more Social Darwinism? The problem with Right-wing ideology is that at its core lies the idea that it's morally acceptable to let poor people starve to death. This has always been the fundamental principle. Well, thanks, but no thanks. If you're not for the People, do society a favor and stay home.

No thanks, we allready have a Republican idiot for Governor. Republicans dont have any credibility anymore. She actually co-chaired McCain's campaign, so that should easily demonstrate her lack of judgement.

Steve Poizner is head and shoulders above all the other possible contenders for the job, including Ms. Whitman. Ms. Whitman’s performance at the Republican convention last year was disappointing to say the least. Poizner’s resume is as diverse and relevant as any candidate and he has the intelligence, vision and leadership skills needed at a critical time in the state’s history. I am a lifelong Democrat but there is no doubt in my mind Poizner is the guy for the job.
