I think many underestimate the how close the Pres & VP really are... poor Jill let the cat out Re: Joey being offered either VP or secretary of state. This demonstrates how much Obama respects and needed Joe on the ticket. I can see the VP driving policy through navigating both sides of the senate... so major policy reform is passed, bailout package etc. Then there's the management of all cabinet to ensure policy is excuted and delivered at a local level. I can see Joey at state level making changes and impacting local government, the people love him, and he's not backwards in being forward - especially with a weekly meeting with Barack. The VP will be one of few with regular access and influence. So I wouldn't think for a single moment the the VP is a sidekick... cannot the media write about more important topics, they should learn irony and black humour - we catholics have it in spades!

Biden is well loved in this country. Not only is he a real American who's net worth is something like 300K he's got a sense of humor. In some ways I'm glad that he's getting "criticism" from the right. The Obama administration needs an object of ridicule for wingnuts to unload their aimless vitriol. Better to gripe over small inconsequential things (which Republicans are awesome at!) than policies that mean things to people. As for the so czlled "gaffes", I pity those who do not understand the man's humor. 95% of people do. That just makes you fools the dumb minority that still thinks Dick Cheney is greater than sliced bread. Sad, sad bunch of lemmings you are.

I think the world of them both, and so far I am very impressed by their solidarity. Joe Biden was my first choice for president, but our young Mr. Obama has grown on me to the point that I feel about him as a proud mother would.
I hope their friendship will only deepen over time. Two good heads and two good hearts are better than one! The same thing goes for Hillary too. With that much combined strength, if they really set aside their past conflicts and form a strong team, we might stand a chance at a much brighter day ahead.

Joe Biden repeatedly stated that he didn't want to be vice president. He's vice president. So who made the wrong decision, Obama or Biden?
It's laughable that Obama feels he needs to allow Biden to speak at events. Obama is the president and Biden knew what he was getting into. The press is looking for stories, but this shouldn't even be an issue.

The only reason I voted for Obama was because he chose Joe Biden for VP. I have come to have some respect for Obama as well, and I think they make a good team, but I'd be quite happy to have Joe as president. He is a valuable asset for our country, and he is more likeable than Obama.

VP Biden is a bomb ready to explode. Hopefully President Obama will keep his distance so nothing gets on him when he blows.
The less he says the better off America will be.
I wish I was as smart as he THINKS he is.

JOE BIDEN, THE DEMOCRATS AND MAINSTREET MEDIA HAD A FIELD DAY WITH SARAH PALLIN, CAUSED PRETTY MUCH BY HER LACK OF EXPERIENCE BUT JOE BIDEN THAT IS THE CONSUMATE WASHINGTON INSIDER HAVING SERVED THERE FOR 36 YEARS AS VP. HEAVEN HELP US AND KEEP PRESIDENT OBAMA SAFE BECAUSE HEAVEN HELP US IF ANYTHING WERE TO HAPPEN TO HIM AND BIDEN BECAME PRESIDENT.

I think Joe Biden will be an excellent VP.
I'm glad that he and Obama are working so close together.
To respond to the first comment - get off of it.
Alot of people mispeak...not just Biden.

If Mr. Biden, Jr can keep foot out of mouth he will be an effective VP. If not, a distraction and disappointment.
