A lot of people seem to be praising Bush for keeping us safe for the last 7 years. I do not really have a stat to back this up other than my personal experience of traveling, but it seems to me that there is more hatred toward America today than there has been at any other point in my lifetime. Have we had a terrorist attack on America in the last 7 years? No. But are we safer than we were 8 years ago? That's a more difficult question to answer, but I think there are probably more people today that would like to inflict harm on this country than there were 7 years ago.

When our Nation was first being started we needed Men to stand, fight and secure this new fledgling of a Country. Becoming part of a foreign power among the Worlds leading nations, as it were, lead us into the wars of freedom. Fighting wars shows other countries we won't go down without fighting. As people who choose to take this country on from the inside with hopes of breaking our Spirit, without knowing what that spirit is, are doomed. As Bush senior did not choose to enter a war with a known evil country leader we let this World see we were not so tough. If Bush senior held back it was not because he was lacking courage. He may tell his story when we need to hear the truth.

It's too bad the rest of us cannot be as respectful as both Bush and Obama were to each other

I am proud of you and the way you did your job. I voted for you twice and would have kept on if it had been possible. You are a doer and not a populist and you can well be proud of that. I wish all our public servants were as honarable as you.

People can say there were no weapons in Irag, but in my book gassing 400,000 people and torturing others who disagree with you constitutes weapons of mass distruction. Should anyone ever attack those in the United States in that way, they would be the first to shout aloud.

George, you are a good man and you did a good job. Enjoy your life, you owe no one an apology.

I can only wish them well. If I had just stopped working 24x7 in such a demanding job I would want to shut off all intrusive sounds and have peace and quiet for awhile - time enough to think of the future.

Bush was willing to make the tough decisions that have kept this country safe since 9/11. While he has made errors, you cannot argue that he stuck to his convictions. He could have accepted defeat and withdrawn from Iraq, but instead went out on a political limb to implement The Surge. As ordinary citizens, it is so easy to criticize Presidents. We have no clue what his job really entails, how many tough decisions he has faced during his presidency, and the immense amount of pressure on his shoulders. I just hope that when Obama makes a mistake (which he will as all Presidents have done), he will receive as much criticism as George W. Bush has received. I find it ironic when liberals tell other to "just give Obama a chance" when they were the same people who never gave Bush a chance. History will judge Bush well. He was the one bold enough to take on radical terrorists throughout the world.

Get out and stay out! Let a real president show you how to run this country.
