Politics Special Hot Docs: Bush’s “Overwhelmingly Negative” Legacy, Shifting Political Tides

There are so many investigative books out there on the Bush administration and their policies by well known journalists with many credible (and I say again, CREDIBLE) sources that has exposed so much information about this administration that Americans need to read to find out the truth about their decisions and policies. Blind loyalty no matter what is not a good character attribute. As Americans, we need to be as informed as possible about those leaders that we entrust with so much power. Unfortunately, facts reflect that the Bush administration abused their power to lengths not seen in my lifetime (as a baby boomer). At least Nixon didn't get anyone killed. As a moderate baby boomer who used to alwlays vote Republican, they are so far out to the right now that I just can't make myself vote Repub right now--

I think the best definition of history that I have come across is that, "History is a lie that is agreed upon." Mr. Bush is going to have to do some very heavy lifting to overcome the impression as being the wrong man, in the wrong job, at the wrong time in our nations history. The reformer with results, the uniter, not a divider, and other fictional Rovian myths of competency are now stripped bare and we are left with a hollow man with a legacy of failure as his bequest to a nation that deserved much better for their trust in him.

its not nbc or msnbc causing bush, cheney, and the satanic right wing of this country.

it is people like yourselves who are out of touch and in denial with the sentiments of the majority of this country and th rest of the world.

clearly bush and company have committed enough mistakes to deserve their unpopulairty.

with cheney and others unrepentent, it seems their satanic natures shows through, painting the whole right wing as a bunch of lucifers offspring.

I don't understand the adulation of Bush 43.

9/11 was a singular moment. We Americans had the heart of the world in our hands after that, and it was squandered. We went to war with a country that I could see a reason for back then (hell if I know now, Bin Laden is evidently still running around, if he hasn't died yet from other causes). But to rush to war with a country that was never a threat to the US by either extremely bad intelligence or even worse by outright lies, without getting a real handle on the first war started, and sending in troops that were underequipped and in insufficient numbers. The Surge worked! Either we (finally) got enough boots on the ground over there or the ethnic cleansing that happened did the job.

I've got three kids in the Army, all of which have been in Iraq and one that has also been in Afghanistan. So yes, these wars have been personal!

I really can't wait to see how blustered Rush, Hannity, Coulter et al. will get when war crimes get filed against Bush, Cheney and Rumsfield.

From early on the Bush years, it became apparent to myself that he was creating opportunities for certain groups, companies, lobbyists to profit off our nation which is dispicable in itself in peacetime but combined with slashing funding for our active duty and veterans, "short sheeting" our troops with supplies and armor, revamping the rules of military service on the fly, i.e. denying VA benefits to certain veterans under certain circumstances, and in general ignoring all sense of civility not to mention issuing his stop-loss orders, denying separations, changing tours of duty requirements and acting like a damn jerk. A competent President doesn't have retention issues with our military but this is not a competent President, this is a sociopath with an attitude. I would love to see a poll which asks if people think Georgie is guilty of selling America and therefore treason. We have yet to see if anyone will have the guts to investigate him for the economic meltdown and war crimes!!! Out west we have a phrase to sum everything in three words, Get The Rope!!!

Do not know how the polls were conducted and if really valid but in any case what is the point of the negative story telling.

Sure a lot of people, who do not really understand the nature of history, and/or whose opinions have been determined by a liberal/socialist press/media bias feel this way today. Let's see what this opinion will be 2/3 years from now or beyong. September 11th, a day when over 3,000 American or other innocent people where killed by Muslim Terrorist has been avoided by the Bush Policy. One should look at the character of those who helped created this anti Bush sentiment. There jerks on MSNBC and the likes on regular NBC. One could go on and on.
