Is Caroline going to use her position to quash the film about JFK s' Acid trips with Mary Pinchot Meyer?

Caroline Kennedy is highly educated, and has brains ... So, that's a great start in appointing her for the open Senate seat. She is dedicated to our Country, so there is another plus. Women get things done. That's a given. Both her mother, and father (and the Kennedy family) took special care in helping the downtrodden, poor, mentally challenged, and children. They were workers for, and givers to the American people.

Add integrity, and personal strength.

A smart choice.

I say, Godspeed Caroline!

And, may her sturdy ladder crash the highest ceiling!

Something is wrong with our system when somebody without experience can just pick up the phone and become a Senator because of family connections.

She's never even given an in-depth interview before. How is anybody supposed to know what her positions are on the issues? Governor Paterson has a responsibility to choose the next Senator based on qualifications. Choosing Caroline Kennedy would look like political payback for her endorsment of Obama.

I guess the Senate is the House of Lords now.

While I don't think she's qualified for the job, let alone a special election in two years plus a general election two years after that, I believe it will be difficult for Paterson to say no to her. Her enemies, friends of Hillary, weren't powerful enough to get her through the primaries. The Kennedy thing, plus the influence of a (soon-to-be) sitting President likely will be enough to get her the appointment.

Hillary would prefer some situation where the seat would be there for her to step back into whenever she leaves the Obama Administration, Paterson ultimately needs to find someone who can hold onto the seat for Democrats in the elections against the big money likely GOP opponents.

Senate Theater is great this year! Get your popcorn. We'll never see this much Senate intrigue at the same time again.

Pure and simple - Caroline Kennedy is not qualified for the position of State Senator. Chancellor Joel Klein, who lies about student data to appear successful, supports Caroline. Klein had no credentials as an educator for his position and had to obtain a waiver from the State Education Department. Look at what a mess he made of NYC schools.

We need less nepotism and less cronyism.
