Same ole rhetoric. 911, Katrina, decisions made by other Presidents and our horribly entrenched congress have lead us to where we are now. Not to mention every fine American who bought a home for twice what they could afford and refused to save anything through our unprecidented financial growth. All parties come to and end in the free enterprise system. It's called a "correction". As far as our "War on Terror"? Everyone has seemed to forget that this new type of war exists and will continue for some time. The shortsightedness of the average American amazes me. I thank God everyday that Al Gore was NOT President when 911 went down. At least George stood up and did something. The sad reality is that protecting America on a budget will probably require some "distastefull" actions. Our kinder-gentler approach will not do nor will the mega-billion war we are now winding down (under Bush's reign). When all you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail. When 10 unhappy guys with 20K worth of weapons can bring a country to it's knees( ie India), you have to be willing to fight a different kind of war. ANY president, including our lord and savior Senator Obama is going to have to face this eventually as well as the American public. It's not pretty.
As for George...WE have not been hit again (granted at an extremely high $$ figure). The bad guys have been too busy.
Good job George!

the bush family has aways been tied to evil, in terms of decadence, corruption, treason, and hubris.
the failed george w. bush is the grandson of a notorious traitor, prescott bush, who was banking executive to a firm that supported nazi germany and hitler.
later, prescotts son and father george h.w. bush, became a paid advocate and agent of communist china, iran contra affair, the training and arming of osama bin laden, arming or saddam hussein, etc. let us not forget george h.w. bush was also head of the cia.
now we have the failed george w. bush, a white affirmative action beneficiary of his family.s satanic political legacy, rulin over the country like he was an emperor, in front of many brain dead evangelical right ring christians, oilmen from texas, and greedy fat cats of wall street.
it is no wonder our country is in this state. bush and his clique intended this to happen.
I know george w. bush is a smart man even with or without affirmatve action.
this crisis was intended though these shadow groups and individuals did not know how far the crisis would spread.
of course some of them might have gotten arrogant to say the crisis they created is under control. but nobody really knows.
the point is, the bush legacy has disrupted th status quo and things just will never bethe same again.

It seems awfully patronizing to try to give Mr. Bush credit for saving America. It is also, seems to me, to be an insult to our intelligence to try to convince the public that Mr.Bush has done a creditable job as President.
The man has performed the most mindless job in the highest position in the world. He has degraded the U.S. into the most deporable position in the world we have ever held since the beginning of the Republic. The Bush-Cheney administration is a disgrace to America's place in history. The spin their supporters are trying to place upon it is deplorable.
There was a surplus in the U. S.budget that was squandered immediately by tax cuts for his friends when Mr. Bush took office. There were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, yet he went to war (for the oil). He used U.S. taxpayor funds to finance the war while creating a surplus in the Iraqi treasury. Now, our country is financially ruined, with corporate executives stuffing their own pockets with company profits and laying off workers with no pensions. After these few allegations, anyone saying that the Bush-Cheney administration has helped our country, is either ignorant, or should be jailed along with them.

This guy could not manage a McDonalds. It would be bankrupt in a year. I'll feel much safer after he is out of office. I am amazed that educated people can defend this man in any way. He sure is the poster boy for showing a Yale education is by no means a substitute for common sense.

I think it's interesting that ari fleischer would weigh in on Bush's so called success. - coming from the likes of mr. fleischer, whos credibility as a bush mouthpiece is the last thing anyone can take seriously. the idea that bush kept us safe is indeed laughable and a bit overblown. honestly now, it's not that hard to imagine how 9-11 could have occured when the cia , fbi, etc. were asleep at the switch. following this catastophic event, it doesn't take a genius to understand that those who were sleeping now need only to be awaken to this calamity. if truth be known, it wasn't as easy as bush wanted everyone to believe that foreign terrorist could penetrate this country at will. Sorry there, ari boy.

For all of his other failures (and I am someone who voted for him twice but is nonetheless unhappy with how his Presidency has turned out), he deserves enormous credit for the fact the territory U.S. has not been attacked again since 9/11. Seven years ago I would have not predicted that.
