Take me as a prude, but the difficult times we are having with our integrity in the world today is the values we as a nation fought for and upheld for 200 some years were overtaken by squander and situational ethics leading to our promoting filth and degraded family sensibilities around the globe as if anything goes is some sort of freedom to be admired. We did it to ourselves and are going to pay the consequences because our example has undermined our message - that is, unless we clean up our act and return to the dignity and respect responsibility for others entails. The party has been long over, we just are so consumed with the obsession of excitement we don't know how to get past the hangover. The November 15 summit may seem like a "post american" situation, but I believe there are some 'changes' on the horizon the current direction of flow doesn't see that will bring an understanding that America will still be the America it used to be. Remember, a donkey will bray and kick real hard but an elephant never forgets and can charge (and I don't mean credit) like none other.

with the penmanship of a poet wrote down the American dream back in 1776 and after some 232 years of people living in tat dream they now are told the next 232 years will be a nightmare. Sad tat the signers of tat piece of paper can't see America today cause if they could you can be assured tat kick ball would be played in Fort Amsterdam again.

If anyine has not read Fareed Zakaria's book "The Post-American World", I strongly urge you to do so. For decades we have exported the ideals of democracy to the rest of the world and donated billions of dollars to assist other countries to raise themselves to our level of productivity and affluence. Now that this is happening, rather than fearing our loss of position, we should welcome the emerging countries as equals who may have some differences in cultural mores and philosopies. Our similarities should outweigh our perceived differences.
