it seems to be getting dramatically worse in america. i remember a much better time, some 30 years ago. i am shocked that america has turned into this. we have finally woken up and smelled the coffee of truth. i don't understand the endgame of this, but it has to be civil war.

If you want to sit in the US waving a flag made china and living under the hope of things might improve, migrate to another nation for a better life, go for it. Thousands have done so, follow your dreams and join them.

Before my graduation from college (USC) I witnessed hundreds upon thousands of people plus new grads with heavy debt loads fighting for positions in companies with little success, one of my good friends from Vietnam said to me don't focus on the States look everywhere I did. (born and raised in LA)

Fast Forward to the time of my graduation after submitting my resume and certified copies of my degree around the world I received 100's of "On the Spot" offers! I can say my student loans all paid in full landed a great job in Management for a large Export company in Vietnam. The economy's of Asia are some of the best and your future employer does all the visas and residency. I will have to say it was the best decision that I have made in my life, plus location 1 hour to Bangkok 1 hour to Singapore 7 hours to Melbourne Australia and so on. And regarding the legal system hell it's more free over here IE got stopped twice forgot my DL my fault "ahh it's you just go back home" so theres much to be said.

In closing great article, there is much more outside the States. Over-here this is the new US the way it was when my father was growing up.

2011, you would think since 2008 things would have changed some. It hasn't. I too am leaving the US. I work within the stem cell field. Grant money is continuously cut and with the debt ceiling issue now it just seems like more is going to be cut. I received a few offers overseas and am taking one in Europe. I look forward to the adventure, will still call America my home, and maybe some day I can return to it with ideally the republican party next to failed ideologies such as communism.

I would leave but have no place to go. I have no passport and would have to give my left kidney and name names to get one. I feel like a Jew in 1936 Germany. I have not worked since TSA required my fingerprints to pay me. What is wrong with my signature. No one wants to hire people with military backgrounds for fear of PTSD, percieved incompetence and out and out classism. The clincher is that 40 is NOT the NEW 20 if you are looking for work. Having experience means you are too expensive. Having a new degree means you have bad credit because of your debt load, which makes you a bad job risk. Having a degree with some experience gets you a probationary period and having managerial experience means you know as much or more that the hiring POC. Can anybody say job security?

I'm tempted to become Amish.

I spent 20 years in the military and in last 8 years I have never seen so many private contractors doing jobs that used to be done my military personnel. Politicians bought by corporations made all this possible. I retired in 2009, and stayed in Germany love it always have don't miss the US a bit.

For decades Americans have been brain washed how great the US is only to see their jobs disappear, their homes foreclosed, their money stolen by banks and investors, college educations with no jobs and finally the brain washing is not working anymore. This country is about to fail soon, well it has already fallen it just needs to happen officially. So many of my fellow Americans have been fleeced by the system, lost everything, are depressed and have fear. I am leaving as soon as I can. I have been laid of when the crisis started in 2007, and was never able to land a decent job again. My wife a Registered Nurse, a profession in demand sees the decline in benefits, pay and under staffing squeezing everything out of them. Employers in this country are corrupt and do not care the slightest bit about a well being work force. When I used to travel to Europe they seem to be more happy there although it is not perfect either. We are leaving the USA, and hopefully we never come back.

Came back to the US in 1996 and went to get a BA degree in 2005. Bad decision, there are no jobs for college grads and for lower jobs I am over qualified. Besides that here in Florida you have to speak Spanish to get a job. I am coming from a proud military family but this country has become a nightmare. So why sitting around here looking for jobs that don't exist and watching how the government spins unemployment numbers. The USA is a place with no future.
