Hillary should take her popular vote and run as an Independent. Her voters will not have to turn to McCain if her name is not on the ballot. I am an African-American woman and I will not vote for Senator Obama. I know that many of his “ghosts” especially here in Illinois are going to resurface in some astonishing ways. Do you wonder why he did not stand in his home state Illinois to make his announcement last night June 3rd after the SD and Montana Primaries. Let’s take a look at why he is “distancing himself from Illinois” and the state and people he used as a stepping stone for the Presidency.
1) The Rezko Trial and jury is going on in downtown Chicago June 3rd 4th 2008.
2) The Pastor disasters are always waiting to happen on the South Side of Chicago at Trinity United.
3) The long time associates of Rezko, Ata, and the political machine are a little to close for comfort.
4) Oprah Winfrey also has not appeared with him in over 2 months.
So our Senator launched his campaign in Minnesota! Hillary went home to her state, but Senator Obama from the Land of Lincoln wants to distance himself from the corrupt associations he has had for the past 20yrs here in Illinois.
I think it would be best if Hillary ran on her own INDEPENDENT ticket and not get mixed up with the corruption and some of the these ghosts that the McCain campaign and so many others will most surely bring out at some point. I really think its a time bomb, so its best if Hillary lets her supporters WRITE her on the ballot which means she must fill out form in every state to be a WRITE - IN CANDIDATE and then her supporters can vote for her or she can continue the race as an INDEPENDENT just as Lieberman did to win his state of Connecticut after the other candidate won the PRIMARY. Hillary really has even more of a reason to do this because of the DNC’s unconstitutional act of taking her delegates and assigning them to Senator Obama in direct opposition to the “will of the popular vote” that she won ! Bill Clinton will always be our DEMOCRATIC President, but the media and the DNC have taken unprecendented steps against Hillary that no other Presidential candidate has ever faced. Bill mentioned the inequitable treatment of the media, but the DNC also has to be faulted because whether she won a state primary or lost a state primary, she was consistently told throughout the campaign to WITHDRAW! This was ridiculous and an insult to all of her supporters (millions) and to the popular vote she has so clearly won! We need Hillary and her compassion to help the people will win her even more popular votes in the general election! Please don’t abandon us to this choiceless–voiceless state of current affairs ! We have noone to vote for in the general election. Please don’t let the parties shove an unwanted candidate down our throats.

she has never made a dime that wasn't tainted by some scandal.her only accomplishment has been to make me certain that most politicians are crooks from the start or soon will be.

I think the best thing that Clinton did was to create so many jobs that unemployment was driven into the dirt. This created a workers market that forced companies to compete with each other for workers, driving wages up. Conversely the first thing Bush did was to give tax breaks to companies that outsource jobs, leaving millions of Americans without jobs and subsequently costing the government billions in tax revenues from those jobs. He was able to keep unemployment low by creating millions of new jobs in the food services industry but the wages for those jobs were much lower than the ones lost. Also, war mongering tends to create jobs as well but at the cost of life. The tax relief check to me seemed like a consolation prize or appology for making my life less financially stable.
Thanks for the compliment earlier. I don't really know how much passive racism is going to play in the upcoming election as a deterent to patriotism. It seems that most white Americans don't think of themselves as racists or don't want to admit it. However, evidence that I have seen come out is this election so far suggests that many white Americans feel just as threatened by a black man with a lot of education as they do a black man with little or no education. Both are viewed as having the potential to take something away from them. I'm voting for Obama but I also consider myself to be smarter than the average American. We'll see how it plays out.

Wow, Mr. Rosch that seems an exceedingly pessimistic viewpoint. Personally, I think Bill Clinton did a lot to improve my life and the lives of those around me. And I don't accept your assertion that my belief is a "pipe dream." I think LBJ did a lot with the Civil Rights Act of 1964. I think FDR did wonders with his New Deal. And I think there are many, many smaller changes for the good too. Conversely, I think the current Bush has basically driven the country and its future into the ground for 7+ years. I wouldn't miss the chance to have my voice be heard for anything now that he's finally on the way out. I'm not sure what you expected from your presidents that has left you so dissatisfied. I have my expectations, and I believe Senator Obama is best poised to meet (and hopefully exceed) them. Maybe you think I'm naive or overly optimistic, but if I can't live with hope and optimism about what I believe in I'd be miserable. I wouldn't want a life like that.

i am an old shot down flyer of ww11 shot in both legs and bailed and found the third day and taken to an english hospital. i have seen a lot of these elections and i am sorry to say to you no matter who won it did nothing for me!in fact the onlytime a president ever did anything for me was this one bush he sent 300- bucks and now some more tax money is coming. the way people act you would think that the electionwas going to change their life....what a joke. just think when did an election do anything for you but hear a bunch of political rhetoric baloney and lies. now just think did any president no matter who do anything that helped you if you say yes your pipe dreaming.at least this president i got some bucks from. the old soldier bud rosch. its probably good they dont do anything they'd foul things up.

It seems race is an issue now, only because there is a black canidate... Where were all these questions of race in the previous prez elections??? No one cared about race when its a white man running,,, This country amazes me daily with its deep-rooted supremacy of one over another.. White people are under the assumption that only what they fear is of relevance.... Its disgusting, and IM white

Hillary, it's time to put your EGO aside and do the right thing for this country.
We need to move forward and unite the party.
Your desperate need to keep going does nothing more then prove your campaign is more about you then what's good for this country.

I don't agree with this news item.
The contest is still pretty open - and all the preliminaries/surveys should be trashed!
Clinton is a high potential candidate (i.e. in a pool of candidates that comprises of Obama & McCain apart from her) and has a strong chance of becoming the first female to occupy the prime seat at the Oval office!
Obama might be a little too young (46) & McCain (72) seems a little too old. So Clinton (61) enjoys the age advantage too ;)
(apart from the "Clinton" advantage of course!)

Indiana was never "seemingly in the order" for Hillary. With Nortwest Indiana and the metro areas being HUGE strong holds for Obama he really should have won the state. Her huge campaigning in NW Indiana is what really helped her out, would have otherwise voted for Obama even on a larger scale. So to say Indiana was her order is an out right stupid statement.
