This is your second cousin, David Bennett. Just wanted to tell you I watched you today on the "Today Show". I was proud of how you protrayed the strong and carring person I always knew. Take care and would love to hear about your family. I live in San Antonio Tx. now. Hang in there and take care. God bless you and your family. By the way how is Doug and Becky ?

I wish the truth would come out--Nagin was an idiot and WILL NOT 'FESS UP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR KATRINA------BUT HE SURE WIIL TAKE CREDIT FOR GUSTAV----I WONDER IF ANYONE WILL THANK THE MAN IN CHARGE THIS TIME---PRES BUSH????? Mr. Brown cannot but anything, succeed and excel. As he holds his head up, shys away from pettiness, and accepts the responsibility for taking "one for the boss." We all know about "scape goats"--so get over it and get on with life. A leaders place is in the middle of it when it hits. And Mr. Brown took the spear. Now, he is certainly well qualified on mentoring others on how to prepare for the next go around. I look forward to hearing more from him about, not being blamed, but on how to move on.

Great story! Too bad the media didn't have the guts to talk to Mike in person and hear his story when Katrina broke. Mike Brown has more integrity in one hand than all the politicians on both sides of the fence, all put together.

Thanks for your posting of this story. I always knew Mike was a standup kind of guy.
I did ask him instead and now have a new friend on facebook. If I am in a disaster situation, I want him on my side!
