it is great that you are reporting on this, and i enjoyed the story but for the continual use of the word "retarded", which is no longer used by the medical or special-needs communities. "intellectually impaired", "those with intellectual disabilities", "mentally challenged", there are a dozen substitutes for the word, a word that has been damaged beyond use. i'm sure you heard and read the phrase in video and writing from Ms. Shriver while researching the article, but that would have been from another era and is the equivalent of using the word "negro" nowadays. thank you, and peace.
