I think self-publishing is one way to do it, but online publishing is the thing to do. Platforms like Publitalent.com are a way to get your name out there. It cost you nothing and you reach thousands of people. Plenty of authors already got successful with this way of publishing.

I notice that many of the spectacular low-cost books at Barnes & Noble (color books on birds, space, what have you) indicate they are published/manufactured in China. Someone even told me a Chinese entrepreneurial company has a ship anchored outside the territorial limit of California that is busy publishing on the cheap (sounds fishy, but he's usually reliable on such info). How do you arrange things with any of these people?

This is a useful information, and I will explore more about it.

Most of the book publishing sites are great but what's an author to do once its done? AuthorsDen.com, along with their sister site, CraigsPress.com can offer an author a full solution of publishing and then marketing of their book to a community of readers and other authors. It's one thing to self publish your book. It's a whole different thing trying to get the word out.

You better clean up your writing a bit before you try to publish. At about eight of your mistakes I quit counting. That was in only four short lines of your writing.

There are many other print-on-demand companies like Infinity Publishing and iUniverse that can give you a per-copy price that's less for a cookbook than $19. The following website features a list of such services: http://www.bookmarket.com/ondemand.htm.
