Seniors will not vote for Obama in second term

I voted for Obama in term one but never again.Every senior I have talked to said they WILL NOT VOTE FOR OBAMA AGAIN.So he is a one term president for sure. The healthcare plan which we saw originally has been watered down to a nothing plan.Where is the "CHANGE"? There is none.

Why rent is above, a nomal person gets 750.00 a month. and we can not get some finacial help

I am retired with pension of 750.00$ per month. I am paying social security for medicare A and B also paying for insurance from my company, Social security stopped giving me checks, saying i was overpaid, now have received letter would get 40.$ on sept 3 rd, than 115.$ in octber, i have to co pay for medication,

I am finding harder and harder to pay rent and utilities,

Or is there a program allready available. or the President going to offer to help people like me? before like many others become homeless. I am presently living with 1 of my sons, who is having difficult time finacially.

No COLA for the next two years!

President Obama wants to eliminate the social security COLA for the next two years. How nice of him; and how dumb of you senior citizens for voting for him. I guess that he figures that seniors are living "High on the Hog" since the last COLA. The way COLA is calculated is based on government chosen items/catagories that don't really change that much. Seniors know that their cost of living is going up but the government chosen catagories don't change that much to reflect the real cost of living increase. The Republicans must be jumping for joy, since they have been trying to eliminate social security. So all of you that are having trouble trying to live off of your social security, should send our President a thankyou for not giving a COLA for the next two years.

I want it all back

It means that the bastards who have taken the 7% from me and my employer for the last 35+ years or roughly 14% of the gross of my lifetime earnings are giving me 0% return on my investment. At the least pay me back for what you have taken or stop taking anymore from me.

What is hard for me to understand is how the so called mainstream media doesn't realise that the third party arising is the Tea Party.

Social Security Fund Raiding and Health

Facts fron Barbara Kennelly who runs the National Committee TO protect and preserve Social Security and Medicare, which includes disability funds, show that some 2 TRILLION dollars have been taken out of the social security trust fund in the last 26 years, noy counting interest that would,ve accrued had the fund been left alone. The first obvious solution to make the fund stronger and last longer is to make fund taking illegal and fine or prosecute violators. If congress had right ethics this problem would not have occured. The intent of the original law passed under FDR was for the money used to keep working Americans out of poverty and give them at least a supplement for

retirement, the only money many Americans will have .This is workers money mismanaged by an unaccountable congress.THIS IS A LEGAL OUTRAGE-STOP THE FUND RAIDING NOW. Help protect and preserve the Social Security Trust Fund.

Lettie and disability

Lettie, I'd get myself a lawyer specializing in disability claims. The dirty little secret is that EVERYONE gets turned down the first time. The other thing is that, okay, maybe you could technically work at some job, but in this economy, what are your chances at landing one at 58 and with arthritis? Let someone else try to do the talking for you.

Good luck.

Social Security Benefits

I whole heartly agree with the person that says to increase Social Security Death Benefits to $10,000.00, or at least to the minimum of $6,000.00.

As far as Social Security Benefits at retirement age: I would prefer to receive mine right now in a lump sum, so that I can invest it now and not have to worry about whether or not SSB will be available in the future.

Social Security

I'm fifty eight years old...and afraid to retire. I'm in a small pension fund, but it will not be enough to retire early. I have been diagnosed with arthritis and still trying to work at least two more years but it is so hard for me. Why is it so hard to get on disability? And why are we penalized by moving up the age of socials security? What must a poor woman as myself do. I'm in pain and still trying to make it. Poor woman in MS

SOCIAL SECURITY DEATH BENEFIT

I would like to see Social Security start paying death benefits up to $10,000. How many americans have paid into social security and died before reaching a retirement age. A one time death benefit would help many families without any insurance and it would be the final benefit for the many years worked without receiving any benefits they had already paid in. What happens to all the money this person had paid in and dies before he even begins to receive his social security? Oh yea, he gets the whopping $250.00 for his final benefit. Who can be buried for $250.00 now days. Forget it, burials just start at 5 or 6,000 dollars that's just the beginning. What happens to those that don't have enough to get buried? They get thrown in a pawpers grave. What an end to a once grand life. Let's get our Congressmen and Senators to start looking into this and see if we can't get an increase for this one time benefit. It would help many.
