10 Great Places to Retire for Democrats and Republicans

Back to article

Response to Nadja of CA

1) Why were you called a racist? Were you implying that only "certain people" were on welfare?

2) Maybe you should stop calling people who don't own guns names.

3) Have you ever even met a rocket scientist? Where did you get this silly idea that they all have southern accents?

4) Since when do Republicans care about things like "living wages"? And yes, Republicans do try to silence the opposition just as much as Democrats. I recall many of my conservative friends telling me (and I'm quoting here) "you're not allowed to disagree with the president." Of course, this rule seemed to only apply when Bush was in charge. With Clinton or Obama, this rule, and their memory of saying it went out the window.

Please stop watching Fox News and come back to reality. We miss you.

Debate The Issues...1st Amendment

Anyone who thinks that if you disagree with them should shutup should read the 1st Amendment. You should respect this right as there are countries that PROHIBIT free speech. If you disagree and want to debate the issues with FACTS I am all for it but I dislike those that tell half-truths and those that seek to silence the opposition. It seems that the party in power seeks to do just that with ANYONE that disagrees with Obama....this is bad for democracy and bad for America.

Why we're moving when we retire

1) I'm tired of being called a bigot when I suggest that maybe we need to rethink the welfare system in an area where unwed motherhood, long term dependency, and violent adolescents who lack a mature male role model are major problems.

2) I'm tired of being called all sorts of foul names because we hunt and own firearms.

3) I'm tired of extremely sanctimonious people who assume that those who do not share their East Coast or Snodfrat accents are somehow mentally inferior and/or undereducated. There is a reason that rocket scientists tend to sound like Old Western movies or something out of Gone With the Wind. Amazingly enough, there are incredibly intelligent people who have never seen an orthodontist.

4) I'm tired of people who prattle on endlessly about racism while their social circles are entirely Caucasian and Asian. It becomes even funnier when they discuss how they hire illegal aliens, pay them almost nothing, and how angry they are that the local authorities don't provide assistance to their illegal alien employees to live in better housing as well as how these employees aren't welcome in the more expensive businesses and higher-end suburban public recreational facilities. These employers people tend to become highly annoyed when one suggests that the simplest solution would be for them to pay a living wage to their illegal alien landscapers, maids, etc.

Ready for a real change

I am tired of both Dems and Reps. I don't think parties affiliations should be allowed on the ballots. Pamplets should be available for the voters stating what each person stands for, on the hot button issues!

Just Forget?

David, things that happened 5 years ago, form the reality in, which we live today. If the regime in power years ago, lied to start a war that has now cost $700 billion dollars, and led to the death of a million people, not to mention several thousand American soldiers (4,345). The number of deaths exceeds those of 9/11 by over 1,300 lives. Now comes the really tragic part. Tens of thousands (31,513) of American soldiers coming home without limbs, physical brain damage, and psychological scars. Those couple of years of their lives that they spent in Iraq, will impact every day, for the rest of their lives. Imagine what that would be like. Now tell me, that we should not prosecute individuals who orchestrated such a tragedy, and if they are found guilty, that they should not sit in prison until they die. If they could deprive a young boy of his future, then they don't deserve to be free for the last 20 years of their lives.

Educationed beyond my intelligance

Get up to speed and then we can communicate! If you think this is all about Democrat and Republican or whatever party you support, you are a fool, and a fool and his money soon part!

If you do not understand the below information then we are not able to carry on an intelligent conversation, so I choose to not waste my time. Knowledge is power!

1. CRA Community Reinvestment Act signed by Jimmy Carter in 1978.

2. HUD mandates signed in 1995 by Bill Clinton, requiring 35% of all HUD money to go to low income housing.

3. HUD mandates signed in 1998 by Bill Clinton, requiring 50% of all HUD money to go to low income housing.

4. Goldman Sacks history going back to 1889 to present, Marc Goldman.

5. Knowledge is power!

Divided since the 1960's

We have had a manipulative media since the 1960's, and probably forever. Your perspective begins in your youth, and tends to disregard all that went before.

Viet Nam and abortion in the 1970's polarized us. If you think this is about Bush, you must be a lot younger than me.

My brother was a fireman who was killed on 9/11. I supported Bush because he took decisive action, and the American people supported him initially. The media always hated him. They supported him briefly, and then began to pound him. Americans have a short attention span, and after constant negative reporting on the war, the people lost interest in winning.

Did you know that over 30%, of the casualties in Afghanistan have occurred in the last 9 months. Where is the outrage in the media now? How is that Hope and Change working out for you?

Response to Divisions

One must ask themselves "Will knowing the truth actually change anything?" I know some people believe that but in reality I think it will just anger some even more.

I find it interesting that Obama has not released more of "the truth". I think there are a couple possibilites why he has not: 1)he knows that it will not cause healing of the nation and is not worth the trouble raised (being presidential) or 2)the truth is that Bush did not lie and will make some in his own party look like fools. Either way I don't think it will change the divisions in this country. Calling the president a liar from either side does nothing to fix the real problems we have. If your anger towards this country are about what happened five-plus years ago, you need to relax and realize there are much more important issues to focus on.
