7 Keys to Smart Bartering

Home Exchanging Is the Quintessential Barter

Having exchanged my two vacation rental properties on Sanibel Island, Florida, I can say from personal experience that with the right combination of factors, bartering between vacation rental owners can result in some terrific "bargains".

But until now, exchanges, like vacation rentals themselves, have been a trifle iffy.

Second Porch, a new Facebook application takes out some of the guess work. On Second Porch, an vacation home owner, rental or not, actually gets to know who is inquiring of their property and vice versa.

The single most important factor in bartering homes is trust. This new social media application, Second Porch, provides that trust and the property owner can go from there.

Business Barter

Barter is an excellent way for new businesses to get up and running quickly, especially in this economy. Let's say you are launcing a public relations business and you know the ins and outs of getting a company or an individual noticed. You can trade your skills (produce and send out a press release) in exchange for legal work (getting your firm incorporated), setting up your accounting system, getting office furniture and a host of other necessities that normally would cost big bucks. Best of all, you establish a new network of potential paying clients for the future.

Check out this unique bartering site, www.CraftyTrade.com

I know of this great new site, www.CraftyTrade.com. It's a semi-new spin on / extension of bartering. Essentially, it is an exchange of skills, hobbies, and time (& some stuff). You can find others in your area who are willing to teach, eager to learn, or simply seeking out others to engage in various activities of interest.

The site is nicely organized into 4 different category searches for the specified type of interactions each user is seeking. You can decide to just learn or just teach. You can find those who would like to exchange lessons with what you are savvy/knowledgable in with something that you aren't yet they otherwise are. You can link up with service professionals (like electricians, carpenters, etc.) and assist them for the day / project and in return get priceless exposure & training for your DIY projects at home (they benefit from the free help). Finally, there is a section called "SOCIALS" where you can find others in your area who have shared interests and would like to link up with others to 'do' what it is they mutually enjoy (i.e. hiking, knitting, playing poker, etc.). And actually, there's a bartering section within this category for a number of things.

Again, it's a new site, but I think once people like us take a look at it and get some postings on there, it could really take off and be a huge asset to us all who love to learn new things and engage in many different activities without the silly cost of paying to do so! I mean for goodness sakes, we all know something!

Hope to find others with the same interests as me! :)

PMMY.com’s alliance with Love 860 AM allows advertisers to get honorable mention on the radio station by offering free giveaways to consumers for the radio station contests aired every Friday at 1:00 PM. Other PMMY.com initiatives include plans to partner with local print media to offer a value-added service and help positively impact their revenues.

PMMY.com is a subsidiary of Lightning Studios, Inc. Since 1998, LSI has evolved into a nationally recognized name serving communities from New York to California. They have been touted as an affordable platform for local advertisers to expose their products and services on the web, by offering free classified advertising for individuals and small business ads starting at $60 per year. Dr. Hayes, CEO and President of LSI, explains “Our success with local retail establishments has propelled our focus to nationally based companies that will also be interested in increasing their sales”. Dr Hayes adds, “We believe that our product mix of low / no cost internet advertising, coupled with no cash outlay radio exposure, plus “fee free” bartering, will be a “hand-up” to our communities. It is our commitment to provide excellence in service with a dedication to total customer satisfaction.”
