The 30 Best Careers for 2009

u gotta be kiddin

I appraise real estate. it should be on this list, except garbage men make more money. Waiting for another mortgage melt down? Don't worry, it wont be long till we need another bail out. Appraisers are run by the mortgage people, who make money on a closed deal. So a lot of bad deals close, and good appraisers are acient history.

The U.S. is third world now

Half of these jobs are related to health care because many people are poor and/or sick from being out of work, and those professionals are lucky to get minimum wage. All tech jobs are transported overseas, so get real U of Michigan. Your friends are getting minimum wage or work-for-free "jobs." I know because I have a tech background. The rest of the jobs on this list are decided by Washington bureaucrats giving our future tax dollars to their friends' companies. The U.S. is a country of rich (less than 1%) and extremely poor and it's getting worse.

Wrong List

This list is missing out on Software/Computer Engg, I study at the UoM and believe me the students from the CS department here get placed the fastest and with the best wages .

Tom Ellis Is Insane

If you said that crap about Bush you'd hunt your own hide and hang yourself as a terrorist. Funny how the coin gets turned isn't it?

Closed to many

Yes, it's great to be a veternarian, a physical therapist or an occupational therapist. Just try and get into an college program to receive the training. Those fields are virually closed to all but the brightest and best young students in college. Since this article seems to be targeted to those looking to change careers, it seems to me that they should have focused on careers that one could realistically enter. This article might be useful for a senior in high school-and that's about it.

Word of Mouth...Networking!

I did hospice/dialysis nursing for years until it broke my heart, spirit and hurt my body. I discovered network marketing and have been very successful with it. It's not for everyone but it's an option. Does bring in risidual money and helps others.

Professional Senior Needs Work

I am a 65 years old retired mental health counselor who is on a fixed income of $1,062.00 a month. I have no other assets since I lost my home and savings earlier this year. I have experienced age discrimination in the workplace, and fear this will keep me from getting the work I must have to care for myself. Any ideas on obtainig work would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
