Court Reporter Out of Jobs in Massachusetts

As of January 20, 2009 the Massachusetts courts will be replacing Court Reporters with recording machines. They are first starting in civil sessions then will be moving to criminal sessions which will eventually lead to the dismissal of all Court Reporters.

The recorders will not be able to be transcribed as an accurate account of the trial do to the fact no one will be recording the sidebar accounts, identify the lawyers who sill be speaking and so on.

New Hampshire was a sate that replaced all Court Reporters with recording machines and has since brought back all Court Reporters due to the in accuracy of a transcript trial that is now been brought to court.

If the Court Reporter is in demand please tell me where so that an application can be submitted from a Massachusetts resident.
