No body care about other well being , the missions and values of the main insurance , hospitals and healt companies sound look and sound look but the shark appetite for profits are a fact in real life , if not why they oppose the goberment program , why they funnel so much money to the prostitues in the senate so the overhaul in healt care dont pass.

I am ashamed that an American citizen has so little understanding of both health care and the English language. lol... I am a Penn State student. and you are an idiot. Our major focuses on profit and the only way it will ever change is through government intervention...now, for your own good, please obtain an education before speaking your mush...

Take profit motive out, so that real caring can be the motive

People who work in the medical field should be there for one main reason: to truly and deeply wanting to help other people with their health. Taking the profit motive out (somehow) of medicine may be the key. Just like the police and fire department are essential agencies for national welfare, so too should be medicine. I am afraid to say the government may have to take over completely in order to distribute fairly and evenly medical assistance for all.

Mr. Nemok

you are stupid. Sir i cant believe you actually feel that way. I cant believe there is people as heartless as you.

Can we afford it?

Cost does matter. Maria Komprath, can we really afford to give all people who are about to die, the most expensive healthcare out there. I would love to help all the poor and sick people in this country and the world, but some has to pay.

Then we must decide weather to give an elderly person a hip replacement, heart transplant..., or help many of the uninsured children and working Americans.

Just cause the technology is there, doesn't mean we are obligated to give to everyone. We have to use the limited money wisely, and there will be sacrifices, although, I know nobody wants there grandma to be the one.

Mr. Nemko

You Mr. Nemko just made the stupidest analysis when giving example of a 70 yrs old who needs a hip replacement. Your assumption leads to the understanding that medical treatment and procedures has to be perform calculating age vs cost effectiveness. Per this theory, we can let 70 yrs old people die just because the cost to treat them it is too high??? Sir, you are not talking about a car or a house!!!!!!!

You better go back in the Dark Ages, and take with you all those who led you to this unethical conclusion. In you opinion probably would be better to bring euthanasia into law, right?????????
