Language

I always thought language was meant to evolve. If people use the phrase, "alot" and it is understood to mean "a lot," then it should be perfectly acceptable to replace the latter phrase with the former.

Hey!

Shut up and let the man write his articles. The charge falls on the educators of this country to correct this mistake. If you don't agree with it you should ensure that it doesn't happen in the tiny way that you can make a difference.

alot

I teach college and high school English and it makes me nuts when "alot" is used instead of "a lot." Unfortunately, it's being accepted into authorities such as Merriam-Webster...how sad.

BUT, if you want to look more educated to those of us who know, use "a lot" and score points!

Spelling

Hi. ''alot" is not a word. Someone with a master's degree should know that. It's two words, "a lot."

Hmmm
