new teacher

Great... I finally decide to switch careers and go into teaching (which I love) and I keep hearing that this is probably the worst time to go into teaching.. (I hear this from teachers not sites like this one).

i guess I will stick to international overseas schools until the US gets its act together.

Education?

As in teaching at a public school? HA!!!!! Where? Not in California! I'm in one of the few growing districts in SoCal (we are expecting 230 new students 09-10), yet I am one of 30 low seniority teachers who just got a RARE Aug. 15 layoff.

The Governator is trying to balance the budget on the backs of California's schools/students. Don't start telling me that WE aren't teaching. I've been in all levels of education for 21 years and have met exactly 2 lousy teachers. My sons (smart children ages 16 and 23) have had the opportunity recently to assist me in my classroom (we had to completely clear out our classrooms with very little notice....and teach at the same time...so my sons came to help pack up). They were stunned at how my student seems lot be incapable of absorbing even the most basic concepts. But I digress....

More money to education isn't necessarily the answer if teachers have no say in how that money might be used to help the students (and I'm not talking about salary). In the meantime, that's not an issue since less money is going to education and Calif. managed to short its districts the EXACT amount that the Feds sent as stimulus. Now Governator is trying to suspend Prop 98 that guarantees a minimum amount to schools.

Now is NOT the time to be a new teacher!!!

Career/ Depression

Here's the kind of depression/career information I need: Wow, I've been really depressed lately about my career path and, while I am following the steps here, I still want to give up. I know I CANT, but I want to. I really want to go the bed and just lay there for like three weeks and stare at the ceiling. I want to curl up in a ball and roll into a dark corner where the world will forget about me for, say, at least 6 months. Oh, and I want time to stop while I do that....and I don't want to age while I'm having this little meltdown either. I want to just wake up and magically be in the life and job I was always supposed to be in. I just want to click my heals and fix the situation without costly therapy or any more school. Oh yeah, I forgot. When I wake up from my black hole of unhappiness, I want all my student loans to be nothing more than a bad dream. If anyone can write an article about how to tap into my power to make these kinds of visualizations come true, THAT would really help me out.

What is going on?

So, disgusted of MI is upset saying P.K. of S.C. DOES NOT CARE ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE! I think that means disgusted of MI does not care about P. K. of S.C.

Okay, we all are aggravated, worried, and stressed over many frustrating events.

Our laws actually protect anyone to care or not care for anyone else for any reason. Of course we have the right to say so and we have the right to believe as we wish. We also have the right to tell others we do not agree with them and to explain (intelligently or not) our position is such a way that we may work to influence them to our own views. In the process, we are also allowing our own views to grow and develope - or we have the choice to agree to disagree.

Then there are laws about personal safety and well being which have nothing to do with our free will of expression. This is where the blurred lines of distinction between right and wrong become subject to individual perspective and desire.

Everyone knows stealing is wrong. If we all work on the one issue to be honest to not take from others against their will....

Hey! I may have discovered an ancient lost art of living !

Hotel Sales Managers is a great job that people don't know about

Hotels always need good sales people. Every hotel has from 1-7 or more of them that earn from 40-100K or more. You don't need a degree, but can you get some insights from aprinda.com

Hotel sales people sell guest rooms, meeting space and banquet space, and amenities to groups and organizations.

It's a fun job, but not many people know about it

I feel Lucky

I agree with the list provided in that the entertainment field is a good business to be in right now, for me work as a DJ has slowed down but not stopped, people with money will still pay for a party.

What should also be on the list is Internet Marketing, I've had a serge of visits to my affiliate web sites with people looking for info on how to run there current business's better, and attract more customers. My commission's from these type of affiliate marketing programs are rising as more and more people are looking to make an extra income online.

I feel very fortunate to be a DJ and an Internet Marketer, I chose these fields before the economy went sour, sadly I have friends with bachelor degree's who can't find work.

Yes...bad times are coming!

They may not happen tomorrow as Obama's spending may delay the worse for now, but no goverment can keep spending at the rate we are forever. The bill will have to be paid. All this unwise spending is going to bankrupt our country and may spiral us down lower then the Great Depression of the 1930's.

Go to my website if you want to see what the bible says about our future. TheRevelationMan.com

You will see word for word what "Revelations" has to say. It is sad that so many of God's leaders are so silent about all that is happening.

But we are here for you....Where the rubber meets the road!
