Its not what degree you get...
...its what you choose to do with it.
Remember, many of these degrees in the US only have a small core requirement - and the rest is up to the student to choose. (However, I will say that many engineering programs are less flexible than liberal arts programs.) What do you want to learn and how will you apply it? What are you taking out from your course selection, how will you tailor your plan to your personal strengths and weaknesses, and how will you uniquely and creatively use your new skills?
Education is not about a piece of paper, and a person is not defined by a certification or degree.
(Oh, and yes, it is sad that most of it has to do with marketing - but it all comes down to that familiar business saying of "Perception IS Reality". What do the goods you own say about you? Are you an Apple hipster, with Nike athleticism - after all, "clothes make the man", right?)
