picture size settings are common on most HDTVs

Most TVs have several picture size settings to optimize the aspect ratio of the video itself to the native screen ratio of the TV. TVs balance the needs of some to "fill the screen" with others desire to "preserve the video quality". Scaling some content to fill the screen requires removing part of the video (objectionable to many) and/or distorting the video to match the screen (again, objectionable to many).

I would like to be able to change the ratio of the picture to fill the screen as I wish, just like I can with computer windows.
