Bank/Auto Bailout vs Infrastructure

Rather that bailing out banks, AIG, ans the auto

industry I would much rather see emphasis on rebuilding our infrastructure. We have bridges and highways (labor intensive projects) that are

in dire straits. Why not a public works effort like the WPA to put some of our unemployed to

work rather than being on the dole.

I know there aren't too many of left who actually experienced the Great Depression. The WPA, PWA and supportive relatives brought my parents through

that period.
