I purchased the converter box and Got the Message Weak signal.
So out i went and purchased aa digital antenna and a dvd recorder with a digital tuner. Same message weak signal. What to do?

Pick the correct antenna for DTV is the secret
I don't care what retaliers say, indoor antennas do not work well with digital TV. The best DTV experience is with an outdoor antenna, hands down. That does not mean you need to put a 20 foot mast on your roof with the convential element antenna. There are plenty of new developments in antennas for DTV. Just check out some of the sites. www.winegard.com is just one. I can tell you, if you rely on an indoor antenna for DTV you will be dissapointed. With a small investment you can have a great signal with plenty of FREE channels..Cut the cable Dish the Dish...save $$$$>

My RCA box seems to work good as far as pulling in stations, but it does lock up quite a bit. I also have a Magnavox that is much more stable but has a poorly designed remote. I've learned that digital TV signals are much harder to receive, but if you can get a good solid signal, the picture and sound quality is awesome. Around southeast Iowa it is easier to get analog than digital signals for some stations. Hopefully once some stations go back to VHF where propagation is better, DTV will improve.

How does DTV converter box really works?
My problem is I am currently viewing my TV using a portable indoor antenna. I am receiving very limited channels, cannot even receive NBC. Now If I add a DTV converter, will I be able to pick up additional analog channels that I am not currently receiving through my antenna, or will this device only convert the digital broadcast signals that my current analog TV is not capable of receiving?

I've heard that Sears and maybe Kmart is stocking DTVPal, but have not confirmed at my local store yet. All the best!
