MagicJack is Crap

My husband and I purchased MagicJack about a year and a half ago. The first month we had it, we didn't have any issues, but after then, it's just been one problem after another. We've gotten dropped calls, calls that won't come through (people get told that the number can't be reached), echo's, static, can't make phone calls etc. We've contacted the technical support (if you can actually call them that) numerous times. I

've followed their instructions to supposedly fix our issues to the letter NUMEROUS TIMES, but nothing has solved the issues we've had. We've ran the MagicFix, upgraded each time there is an upgrade but still the problems persist. Between all the problems this phone service has given us and the lack of good support, I'd highly recommend NOT wasting your money on a product that isn't worth your money. Stay away from MagicJack, it's just a ripoff.

Blocking Phone Numbers

MagicJack has started blocking calls to some GoToMeeting phone numbers (like 712-338-7131). When you dial these blocked numbers, you get a message stating that MagicJack cannot connect to this number and then they tell you in the message that you should dial another number - which happens to be the new MagicJack conference service! I have no problem with them offering a new conference service, but it means I can't use my MagicJack phone to connect to my friends conference calls that are on GoToMeeting. What other numbers will MagicJack decide to block because of competition or simply because they can? Big Brother time!

No need to have a computer running. You simply plug your standard phone in the ISP's box. Same with TV.

Magic Jack would have no chance here.

What is amazing is that this type of USB adaptor (even some including Skype calling) have been on the market for more than 5 years, with the possibility of using voip operators much cheaper than Magi Jack, and now this company is creating such a Buzz. Curious ...

you people are idiots. plug it in, pick a number and your good to go. if you cant install a magicjack youre officially retarded. this thing is the most amazing product ive seen in the past 5 years (seriously) i was paying 50 bucks a month for phone service plus 35 for dsl with att. now i only pay for internet.

call your phone company and ask them to install a "dry loop" connection or dsl direct (same thing) this is dsl without a phone line (25 bucks a month) so now i pay 25 a month for internet and $20 a year for the phone saving myself about $700 a year in a matter of minutes.

yo tengo magic jack hace casi un ano en noviembre lo renuevo.por $20 dolares al ano que mas tu puedes pedir.ninguna compania te va a dar esa oferta y puedes llevartelo para donde quieras y conestarlo en cualquier laptop o pc y tienes servicio.asi que no se quejen de magic jack que ese servicio es lo mejor que a salido.
