Did you use your Advanta business card to buy groceries?
If you bought something that violates the terms of the agreement in anyway, such as purchasing non-business related items, you might have defaulted, thus ascending to the higher rate.

Advanta hiked my rates
Advanta increased my rate from 7.99 to 26.99% with no warning and no explanation. I have never been late, never gone over my credit limit and nothing changed in my credit history. When I called, they would only give me a canned response about "many factors affecting my rate, including the current economy." There are lots of horror stories about Advanta doing this--I just found them too late.

Advanta charges me huge interst hike overnight
I recently had my Advanta cashback rewards card interest rate go from about 7%to over 25%.Upon requesting an explanation I was told it was my "total credit picture" and they could not give me a specific explanation.
I pulled my credit and made a aggressive payment to reduce my exposure to this new ridiculous rate.I could find no new activity that altered my "total credit picture" in any way unless on time and over paid is a detriment to ones credit.
These deploreable acts could lead to good people going bankrupt, people and bussinesses that have a chance of actually surviving this enviroment.
I have been waiting for four days and counting for an Advanta supervisor to call me back after repeated requests.
I only hope when this is all over people remember these credit entities are not our friends and don't treat us with any regard or respect even after years of good bussiness.
