Invest in technology: Green Mountain saw early potential in Keurig, developer of an innovative coffee-making system.

Acquire: The Tully's buy will provide a West Coast foothold, and Keurig completely changed the game.

Partner with big names: Some ExxonMobil stations and McDonald's restaurants serve Green Mountain Coffee, including the Newman's Own Organics blend.

Pamper employees: Free Spanish classes, a meditation room, and trips to coffee-producing countries are perks that motivate.

Market nontraditionally: Instead of selling through TV ads, Green Mountain leans heavily on word-of-mouth promotion, partnerships, and sponsorships.

A proud Vermonter and Green Mountain Coffee Drinker. I like their "Dark Magic Espresso" the best. I have no connection with this company.

Tasting for the first time

While in my Doctors office this morning, there was a delicious aroma. When I asked what brand it was the office clerk told me it was Green Mountain. She even gave me a cup to try. So very good. However, I live in Arizona.
