Reagan

Why blame this on Reagan when Carter left this country in a MESS.You men are nothing but idiots that wrote that Reagan messed the 80's up.

Rising prices merely reflect money losing purchase power

I built our own house in 1975. I remember thinking that materials costs amounted to an outrage then. However, by the end of the 1970's most of those material costs had more than doubled. OPEC had managed to control supply of oil so that oil in 1972 was $3.50 a barrel and was $30.00 a barrel by 1980.

It is convenient for politically ambitious to ignore reality

(blame a partisan political party for effects of things beyond the control of victim nations)Praising ideology while damaging the Ideology for political gain is hardly a showing of real Patriotism--the way I see things.

ideological philosophy

Too many conservatives--esp. neo-cons? seem to desire a form of government called "Monarchy" --like old Europe from whense millions fled to the U.S. A. Monarchy provided a small % of the given nations population with a lopsided share of the wealth available. This is only a reflection of the spread between I.Q. and attitudes according to current champions of lop sided benefits to a small % of the U.S. population. I gather from this retionale' that it is common for person "A" to have a few million more brain cells than random person "B"? (either that or be highly qualified for membership in Al Capone's gang of murderers)Spin and hypocracy is abundant in U.S. politics. e.g.

Reagan critized Carter for big National debt--aftrer 8 yrs. of Reagan and 4 of Bush the National debt had grown by a factor of 4--yet Reagan worshipers claim that the longest period of economic progress was made under Reagan--at least until 1987?
