The standard in our county right now is 1 year and many states are pushing 1.5 yeas unemployment. Why would a person even think about working when they can have over 60 free hours more a week for over a year.
The pressure and load on tax payers and business just cannot afford this level of "care" to allow people to be LOSERS. Its a fact that with Workers Compensation and Unemployment Insurance that people quit and decide not to work and focus on other things because after all they have money coming in and so they are going to maximize it.
we have moved from being a proud and independent nation, that is to proud to 'take hand outs' and charity to a nation that believe our Government, Business, and our fellow citizens answer to us and are responsible for paying our way because they are a "victim" of something. yet we all are victims. These individuals that wish to suck and drain from the good will in the name of 'I deserve this' and 'they need to pay" because of this or that.
the most wealthy and successful people in the world are victims but they don't and never did play the victim role. STOP BEING A VICTIM. if you want to be successful and independent.
but if you want to be a welfare project and languish in depression then by all means play the victim just know that in doing so your not American and those are not American Values, your anti American.
I am just your average citizen who has held a job since I was 13 yrs old. I started by delivering papers so I could help my single mother of three children pay the bills and haven't stopped working since. I am now 36 by the way and have always payed my taxes on time every year like clockwork. I live in Tennessee by the way and the jobs around here are basically non-existent. It is a shame that every job that I apply fo nets at least 200 or so applicants for the same job. I DO HAVE A COLLEGE DEGREE and I AM WILLING TO TAKE ANY JOB REGARDLESS OF THE CALIBER OF THE POSITION. To all those folks that leave comments like people who are on unemployment are just lazy and do not want to work then all I have to say to you is SHAME ON YOU! If you are so confident that is really what is going on why don't you quit your job and go out and try and get another one because you won't. I am down to applying at jobs that are way below my experience level and I still get the same thing which is SORRY BUT WE HAVE NO OPENINGS AT THIS TIME. I have seen factories that have been in business for 80+ yrs around here close their doors with no warning at all and several more announcing the same destiny if the economy does not change. For the first time in my life I have applied for food stamps and it sickens me to think that the government would not give me anything to help feed my children because I have a small amount of money in savings. The only reason I have this this is so that if by some reason I should unexpectedly pass away I will have money for my own burial. Please call your local senate and get this extension passed. I have not drawn anything since early September and desperately need one to feed my family. Should I just pull all my money out of savings and bury it in a coffee can behind my house and leave my children a treasure map in case of my unfortunate death for goodness sakes! I would ask not for help if I did not need it! Despite all of this I still love my country and will defend her til my dying breath but let's please step back and take a good look at what is going on here really. On my final word I will say to all the people that say we are lazy then SHAME ON YOU and I hope you are enjoying your jobs that pay more than enough to pay your bills and your grocery bill each month because I would love to have one!!!

another job app in the trash
Hi I know I just posted but just called a few places that I filled out apps for work. HR PLEOPLE say sorry not hiring. Thats B.S i filled out those apps 4 days ago. Congress what is going on it seems that YES MY BILLS ARE PAID WE DONT CARE ABOUT ARE MIDDLE CLASS WORKING PEOPLE THAT HAVE WORKED FOR YEARS. well I hope it changes soon stop the WAR and help your people out we need are leaders to take a good look around your bring down the economoy not USE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where are the jobs OVER SEAS NOT IN THE UNITED STATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OBAMA NEEDS TO STEP IN AND HELP THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OUT NOT HIS OR THE CONGRESS BANK ACCOUNTS. Help feed the people that votes and stop the supports of the war that the gonverment lied about in the frist place.

It is time to act
I just read that unemployment for alot of people are is going to run out soon. Please i urge that the bill is passed> I have been working for 11 years and have lost my job as a bill collector. I have been unemployed for 7 months and have looked everywhere for a job in Buffalo NY. Two many people filling out apps at the places i have and no job interview.I am behind in bills and rent and doing my best to keep my head above water with what i get from unemployment. I go out everyday and no results of finding work. This is the worst I have seen in years. So i urge congress to think about this and help out there people and not other countries. Fouces on the united states and take a good look at what is happening around the united states.
