applying through monster

I tried hitting the apply button at the bottom of the page and only a purple popup came up about finding similar jobs. I also did the "contact us" routine on monster to ask questions and got no response when I hit send. What the hex wrong here?

schrodinger

Hell, every time I try to upload my new resume, Monster comes back and says "There was an unexpected problem", and I never could get the resume to upload. I was applying for one particular job, which I found through another job listing site and NOT Monster. However, the posting linked to Monster, so I followed the link. I gave up on Monster and took my resume to the employer in person. Happily, the employer wasn't that far from home. It worked out well so far. I got an informal interview on the spot, and was able to include copies of my continuing education certificates and other documentation. Formal interview scheduled for next week.

I give up on Monster-- I don't know why I even monkeyed around with it in the first place. I should have saved the half-hour I spent jerking around with their resume-uploader and simply driven over to the employer from the start. Monster has NEVER resulted in a successful job placement for me, but I'd heard that it has changed. Yes, Monster has changed all right: for the worse.

Career Mapping

I was really excited about the career mapping tool but it didn't work for me at all. I'm an artist who wants to be a Creative Director someday and the system just gave me errors. Total disappointment. :(

New Monster doesn't work

I can only look at one page of postings; I can't get to the next page or pages. I haven't even tried to upload my resume; I can't apply to any jobs because I can't view them after the first page.

New Monster doesn't work for me!

I have a word document uploaded as my resume. Now if i modify the word document on my pc and want to reload this modified version, mosnter doesn't give me an option. I have to create a new resume from scratch! Isn't that stupid?

Monster help desk - no help.

My browser works with every website in the world. It used to work with Monster but now it won't do anything. Their chatroom help session went nowhere except to say they have had some issues since they changed their website. When I said my computer has no issues with any other website, they had no answer.

New website is useless for Mac users

I will assume the other posters are Window users, since the job application function does not work at all on a Mac. Having tried it on four different browsers (Firefox 3.0, Camino 1.6, Opera 9.63, and iCab 4.2.5) I have found that it simply does not work. A pop-up screen will not allow me to access "Submit" and hitting the Email button, instead of Apply, just brings me to the apple pop-up again. I cannot believe they even tried testing this since even the most elementary testing procedure wold have prevented this from going into production.

spent hours trying to fix resume

So, after a frustrating half hour long discussion with a custoemr service rep on monster.com's live chat support, I learned that: a) monster no longer supports built resumes, so all the formatting tools that are provided are useless, and you you have no choice but to upload your .doc resume and b) unless your resume is formatted using tables, you can forget about it being uploaded properly. Regardless of how your .doc resume is formatted, monster.com sort of does its own thing (e.g. bullets are arrows instead of bullet points). Finally, if you're not happy with the format of your resume and you decide to modify the .doc version and reload it... you can't! How frustrating? You have to create a NEW resume, upload the .doc, and re-enter all the job search criteria (e.g. occupations, industries, desired salary range, etc.). After several hours, I finally got my resume to look good, but I've had it with monster.com. I'm definitely going to take my job search elsewhere...
