Sitting at mom's with my kids to eat dinner because food is low at my house.

Watching tv and crying at the same time. Christmas commericals are coming hourly and this reminds me all of my families money problems. Since my husband and I are out of work and my unemployment checks have ended and my kids know in their hearts Christmas is out this year because we are trying to keep our home and keep the electric on.

My kids tell me all the time their hungry and tired of the foods we can afford.

Please hurry with this extension checks, all my kids would enjoy is a good Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. This is their only concern at this time were we be living Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Goes back to The House

I'd like to correct my previous statement.. 8.5% and above. Now the Senate version of the Unemployment extension bill with the tax credit attachment goes back to the House of Rep. today Thursday November the 6th It is expected that it will be ratified or quickly approved as per the Senate Version. It will then head to the President's desk where it is highly expected that President Obama will sign it into law perhaps even over the weekend. So by early next week those that were qualified and were recieving payments & lost their benefits will be able to contact their state unemployment agency and ask for those extended payments as per Federal Law.

Is it for real This Time

Last night the Senate voted 98-0 Aye..no Na's to pass the 14 week extention for Unemployment for all 50 states..Those States that have Unemployment figures above 8.5% for 3 consecutive months qualify for an additional 6 weeks of extention benefits. Also within that bill was an attachment to extend the $8000 tax credit for 1st time home buyers..no doubt something the Republicans demanded for their unanimous Aye vote. The same bill they voted down 3 times before without the tax credit. It is 2 different issues, one is for survival.. the other is for making a profit. Lets not forget that in Nov 2010.

Unemloyment Confusions

Do you think your not working if you are on unemployment? It is a full time job just keeping up with their systems. They sent me info. one day, that I was to recieve the last 13 week extension, then 1 or 2 checks lator no checks anymore. It's a nightmare looking for work, with a physical disability, as well as living in MI. It's even a psychological abuse game working for them. They don't ansew the phone for help, you have to go to downtown Pontiac where they just set up some office in some building somewhere, and force you to physically go there if you have a problem, or question. I have done the online thing, but, that process Still may leave you with more needed help or info. OH WELL, get in your car, if you still have one, and drive it to their inconspicuous new building, fight for your rights to have your checks from 5 weeks owed since stopping payment to me. Then in the mail, a day lator find out Your Denied those 5 weeks because your reasons were not good enough to them (whoever they are), you can just live in the street now.

Wether they pass another extension or not, this dosn't mean they will pay you, but they will play head games with you for as long as you work for them. As if I wasn't insulted enough needing assistance after working for years, then watching the demand for low cost workers erase me from the company I last worked at to hire someone I trained to take over my job and work for 1 third less pay, while I was sent to look for another job.

when

I wonder how long this process will take to get to the people?

We Can Help Get the unemployment Bill Passed!

To Michael,

I was hurt to hear your story and to know that there are thousands of people just like you suffering for no good reason. That is precisely why I decided to start an online petition. I am also unemployed and feel everyone's pain. Most of us cannot wait another 3-4 weeks. Time is running out and homelessness for many is only days away.

It is beyond time to make the needs of the people a priority and pass the bill by the end of the week. Over 2500 unemployed Americans have signed my online petition and shared their heart-breaking stories of loss and desperation. It is all the proof that the Senate needs to understand the urgency of extending the bill without further delay.

Please Sign the petition and pass the link to friends or post it on your favorite sites.

Thanks,

C.

Wondering

If this ever makes it to each states unemployment agency, the ones who's checks have already ran out like mine, are we going to start receiving payments again or I wonder if we have to wait longer for each state to determine who's to receive this new extention.

Georgia has held up some peoples extention up to six weeks for them to call you and ask "your name" and "still out of work" on our last SEB extentions.

Senate has voted to extend unemployment

Hi Everyone.

The senate has finally been able to get the bill passed without the Republican blocking it. The vote today was 85-2 for passage.

Now it will go to Obama. He should be receiving it in the next day or two, for him to sign, which he has already said he will.

Looks like we are finally going to get help.

Good luck to everyone. It has been a long trying time
