Low Mortgage Rates Rip Off

I’m one of those people who played by the rules.

3 years ago I refinanced my home at 6% on 94K approximately, for 30 years...

My note payments are 560.00 per month. P&I only.

I can lower my payment by about 150.00 per month...

By refinancing at 5% with the Bank of America... However are you aware of the ridicules refinance charges being levied on people wanting to take advantage of the tax payer funds that the government has given to the banks to lower their existing mortgage and put some extra cash in to their pockets? I would be charged in excess of 6,000.00 for doing the refinance that the bank of America as well as my existing mortgage holder Colonial Savings of Ft. Worth TX to refinance a lesser amount then I refinanced just 3 years ago.

My closing costs at that time were approximately $2,100.00...

In closing the banks is ripping the taxpayer off using the funds from the taxpayers by charging refinance fees that make any but the most desperate want to refinance their existing mortgages.

Job Growth

My therapist had met with in one morning last week a doctor, an attorney and a dentist--all of whom stated their business was at a 25% level of what it was a year before.

The attorney said litigation is too expensive so no one is suing; divorces are stalled; and parties are settling vs. litigating.

The doctor said elective surgery isn't covered by health insurance so liposuction, face lifts, breast augmentation, vasectomies and Botox injections are down; blood banks are closing centers; and hospitals are seeing a 25% revenue decline.

And the dentist said no one has dental insurance so all he's doing are extractions and root canals.

Neither federal stimulus nor anesthesia is helping these professions.

Plus side to Unemployment

Gave up drinking...couldn't afford it. Lost tooth already...no insurance. Private business has no union or benefits...Plus side has been...more time home with the family to help with health issues...
