Fiorina's Non-Gaffe: Could McCain or Palin Do Your Job?

Back to blog

I'm already in love with Carly

That was one of the brightest observations made at the McCain camp. Carly Fiorina was obviously making the point that it takes considerable experience and skills to even run a major corporation, let alone the US Executive Office. Palin has been getting off too easy with her qualifications, because it appeals to so many Americans that just anyone with high school skills is qualified enough to be the Vice President and go talk to the United Nations, and stare unblikingly down Putin across the Bering Strait. Some pundits have already been alluding to great Americans in the past with humble relatively uneducated origins, which is a dead giveway of their admission that Palin is not top ranked when it comes to experience. What I am very sad about is why didn't McCain pick Carly Fiorina as his running mate. Then I would have been very galvanized and excited, certainly for a period longer than a couple of weeks the Palin Mystique has lasted.

Connecticut is tired of McCain and Palin too!

I am also a registered Republican, and I even voted for McCain in the primaries. Now, I am sorry I did. I should have voted for Romney. He wouldn't have chosen Palin to take his place as the leader of our country. He wouldn't have felt the need to lie and lie and lie. I was shocked at first and felt the McCain was so arrogant that he didn't feel he even needed a VP, after all he did take so, so long.

Fiorina puts foot in mouth

Now Carly slams Palin and MCain. Talk about putting your foot in your mouth. Running a business may be different than government, but both require massive organizational and communication skills.

Quite a few people have crossed both sides - Romney, Raines, Cheney, Rumsfeld, McNamara. First she's just wrong. Second, she's just politically numb. If she's the best one McCain has to speak for her, it makes you wonder.

n a few weeks we will make a choice that will decide our future.

This time the stakes are much higher then most people could imagine

I would like to point out some things You may already know with a new perspective.

I follow a economist named bob proctor who has called the top and bottom of every market crash since the 70s correctly.

He perfectly predicted the current real estate market meltdown ,and the picture he paints about what will happen in the next couple years

Is terrifying. He thinks it could get worse then the great depression.

Banks in the US are going under one after the other. Country wide the largest morgage bank in the world

Bear Stearns and Lehman brothers , and Merrill Lynch which are 3 out of the top 5 wall street firms.

And now Fanny and Freddy which hold 50 percent of the home loans in the United States.

The goverment took them over because they are essentially bankrupt.

If they didn't the entire financially system would virtually shut down, the stock market would crash

And we would suffer beyond what any of us have seen before

The future of these companies will fall into the hands of our next president

And all of our economic future depends on them reorganizing these companies right.

Lehman, Merill Lynch, and Bear Sterns have survived for over 150 years and survived even the great depression

They are important because the are the biggest engines of growth in america and

they are connected to almost everything.

The last time the real estate market numbers looked this bad was during

The great depression and real estate often leads the way into major economic recessions.

One out of 10 Americans is somewhere in the foreclosure process.

During the last 8 years the average person saw there salary drop instead

Of increase. These are all facts no one will argue with.

The truth is we are only in the start of the worst economy we have seen in our generation

and a very real possibility of another depression.

Bush just like Mcain doesn't understand the economy.

That not just my opinion its his own words. Not only does he not understand how to fix it

He does not understand exactly what is broken. Its no surprise that he doesnt. The people that make up these

securities use complex math models very few people understand.

They are basically bundles of thousand of loans some good and some bad that are then given rules based on quantitiative

math. It will take the best and brightest minds in the world to get us out of this, and the same things bush and mcain have done for the last 8 years

Have not worked so far and wont work in the future.

If you do what you have always done then you will do get what you have always __________

90 percent of the time they have voted the same.

Please don't just take my word for it Start to read up on some of this yourself. MSN money, elliot wave and, bloomberg

Have tons of articles That prove we are in the heading into one of the worst economies ever

Dailysource offers in-depth news about Palin

Please check this out ... the most comprehensive page of information on Sarah Palin on the Internet ... including videos of her saying her proposed $30 billion pipeline is the “will of God,” her saying a month ago she doesn’t know what the vice-president does, and her recently praising the biggest pork barrel spender in Congress Ted Stevens -

http://dailysource. org/palin

It has in-depth research, audio clips, videos, excerpts, and links to hundreds of articles, including many from newspapers and TV stations in Alaska. It has rare footage, including her telling the ‘08 convention of the Alaska Independence Party, whose aim is to give Alaska a vote on seceding from the U.S., to “keep up the good work.” The level of research is unparalled. The site’s editors and volunteers include an Emmy-award winning CNN reporter, the former operating editor of the Monitor’s web site, the former head of NPRs News Blog and the Executive Director of the Online News Association -

VP

This woman is 1 step away from being a felon, now she is trying to get Trooper gate thrown out. I wonder If I rob a bank I could get that thrown out. I an mot sure what happen in AL when you break the law, but when you break the law here you go to jail. Getting it thrown out is only an admission to your guilt. I still cann believe someone under investigation was selected for VP. This is a joke. Not to mention you ZERO skills for the position.

Hottopics of OH @ Sep 17, 2008 20:28:19 PM

Yeah

I'm afraid neither Obama NOR McCain have ANY credibility on the economy. Their VP choices are even worse.

America, look what you've got yourself into by voting based on skin color, sex, and religion rather than on qualifications!

America, you will now have to deal with the consequences of your "wisdom" in choosing these people... I wash my hands of this.

Palin Interviewed by Katie Couric

This should be good, I remember Katie interviewing pharma company company Bayer about the cost of Anthrax remedy drugs after 9/11, she was brutally frank and cut the CEO to pieces.

As along as she is not pro-Palin she might be very damaging to the McCain campaign.

This is one decision they might live to regret.

OMG ... What idiot would choose Carly as an advisor ?

Oh My God, what sort of an idiot would choose Carly as an advisor ? She devalued HP stock by more than 50 percent, and was fired. At the corporate headquarters they played, Yeah, the wicked witch is dead over the intercom. She has been, and will always be a looser. Knowing that she is a train wreck, what idiot would have her anywhere near a mic ?

I worked for HP before, during, and after Carly was on the scene. She was a poster child for unethical, illegal, and corruptive practices and was fired ! She tanked the stock, the company, the employees, and walked off with millions in severance. She was to HP what Kenneth was to Enron !! She should be in jail, not on a campaign, or acting as an advisor to anyone.

Palin as CEO

I disagree with Fiorina on Palin's qualifictions for business management. From what I have learned about the Governor (and it has taken much digging, on my own), she is a ruthless opportunist, and a wizard at taking credit for the accomplishments of others while avoiding blame for any missteps.

Those attributes are in perfect tune with one particularly successful management style. Though not devoid of pitfalls, when the "Barracuda" approach is applied masterfully, it can lead to bullet proof control of the largest corporation. The risk, of course, is revolt. If an underling ever succeeds in gaining traction with his disgruntlement, it requires a heavy handed trouncing of his motives, and a powerful denial of his credibility. Tricky, but doable with the backing of slick Washington attorneys.

Palin is displaying her ruthless management skills to the world, as she wrestles her "Troopergate" scandal into the mud pit that is Republican political strategy.

Business acumen? You betcha. Governmental service? Not in a million years.

You're wrong about Palin's business acumen, Fiorina. Additionally, you are wrong about her political value.
