Indeed.com took top honors among job search sites in a holiday poll over at Lifehacker. The straightforward search site ranked no. 1--Monster, Careerbuilder, LinkedIn, HotJobs and Craigslist rounded out the top six.

Lifehacker says of the site: "Indeed isn't a full-service job search site where you post your resume and hope for calls from employers, but if you know what kind of work you're looking for, its impressive meta-search (complete with email alerts and RSS feeds) is worth a look."

You can see all of the site's job tools here.

Indeed pulls listings from job sites, company sites, newspapers and associations. You'll be glad to know that Indeed reports "872,086 new jobs in the last 7 days."

The site may still be new to many job seekers, but it was launched in 2004. If you're curious about its ownership--"Indeed is privately held, with institutional investors including The New York Times Company, Allen & Company and Union Square Ventures," according to the site.

see job density at U.S. ALL job locations?

What about seeing job density, or all job results shown on Google maps ALL at once?

I found the "mashup" featured at

http://www.programmableweb.com/mashup/indeed-dump-all-job-locations-to-google-maps

does that and it's fast. It ranks each city by count of the job you searched, too. Really helpful.
