exhausted

BURN OBAMA IN EFFIGY!!!! THEY HAVE THE NERVE TO GO ON VACATION KNOWING PEOPLE ARE HUNGRY, AND ON THE BRINK OF LOSING THEIR HOMES. WE HAVE GIVEN SO MUCH POWER TO SO FEW WHO WOULD RATHER EAT CAKE. THIS IS A COUNTRY OF THE PEOPLE AND BY THE PEOPLE, AND THE PEOPLE WILL HAVE TO COME TOGETHER BEFORE THERE IS NO COUNTRY WE CAN CALL OUR OWN. 700 BILLION TO BAILOUT BANKS WHO ARE NOT HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR HOW THE MONEY WAS SPENT, COULD'VE BEEN INVESTED IN THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. WE ARE THE ECONOMY!! WITHOUT US THEY WOULD NOT EXIST. AND NOW YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR A FEW SCRAPS, BECAUSE WE WERE NOT PART OF THE SPENDING PLAN. IF YOU WASTED YOUR VOTE AS I DID, TELL THE WHITEHOUSE YOU WANT IT BACK. THE PRESENT ADMINISTRATION CARES NOTHING FOR US AND WISHES WE WOLD JUST GO AWAY AND I AM SURE THAT WE WOULD IF WE ONLY HAD THE MONEY TO DO SO BECAUSE AMERICA IS DYING AND CAPITOL HILL IS KILLING IT.

So Hard

This is so hard. I spent all day wondering if I would be eligible but this is what I found on Pelosi's website. House Votes To Extend Unemployment Insurance Benefits

September 22nd, 2009 by Karina

Tonight, the House passed the Unemployment Compensation Extension Act (H.R. 3548) by a vote of 331-83. The legislation provides up to 13 additional weeks of unemployment benefits to workers in high unemployment states who are about to run out of benefits — helping at least 300,000 Americans who will exhaust all of their benefits by the end of September and over 1 million who will run out of unemployment by the end of December. This extension is targeted to states with particularly high unemployment (those with a three-month average total unemployment rate of 8.5% or a 13-week insured unemployment rate above 6%), where it is more difficult for people to find new jobs. Currently, that includes:

Alaska, Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Washington, Wisconsin, and West Virginia

It all sounds like double talk to me. So, so, tired.

extension

as far as i know congress already said before there "little" vacation when they got back they would address the need for another extension. now with the numbers being flipped and turned like they seem to be doing them they might feel no need for it. after all the hatred there getting over there health care bill they might just say you little people need to starve and leave us be. all i know my wife makes 8.25 an hour and has crappy insurance and just had a mammagram and a ultrasound done. now the bills come in and believe me the state of michigan unless you live in a cardboard box you don't get any help. i want a job so bad at times but theres none out there and there not going to hire me at burger king, i'm not much of a people person and i think my truck driver attitude would get me fired the first day. glad i don't have a house payment and we grow a garden and own chickens but geeze i feel for people. bright spot in my life is my daughter who is a second year teacher just got married and bought a house plus i have a son in the navy that got promoted to 3rd class MA. now don't we all feel better? i feel for everyone, be safe and don't give up.

Fourth Benefit Extension Needed.

Congress needs to come back from their month long vacation, and find out that millions of out of work Americans have left phone messages, jammed their fax machines, sent tons of letters and millions of Email messages demanding a fourth unemployment benefit extension.

‘Then maybe they will wake up to the fact there are more people besides the Corporate CEO’s, banks and wall street that need help in this nation.

Which is where the biggest part of the trillions of dollars of stimulus money went to.

Until someone up on the Hill figures out how to create jobs in America we will keep on needing benefit extensions.

Of course we know even in this poor economy there would still be some jobs out there if the government would quit outsourcing them. And inviting workers from foreign countries to migrate here and take away the few jobs left for our citizens.

Plus they are taxing the business and piling on so many regulations that they are putting many of them out of business. And causing many to move out of the area.

So how does Congress expect Americans to get back to work, when they themselves are helping to create the problems.

Their creating Green Jobs and a few things here and there does not get mainstream America back working. Not when hundreds are standing in line for one job opening.

Anything

American used to blame the Mexican for taking their $2 jobs.

I am an Electrical Engineer and I have seen drawings from China belong

to U.S companies. This suggest many high tech job have been moved to China

sometime ago.

The F#&@ING government knows it is not the Mexican, but did they inform

the people. No

I you want your Job back, then tell your government to stop shipping jobs

overseas.

Fourth Benefit Extension Maybe ?

Dear Sadden of Fl,

How right you are.

They look out for the big boys and forget the average American.

The American workforce is the backbone of the economy.

They need to help jump start jobs and get people back to work then you will see the economy really pick up.

The Obama Administration is trying to say the worst part of the recession is over. And the economy is improving.

How can that be when every day we read about more layoffs and more business moving out of the area.?

I even read were the U.S. Postal Service is planning on closing thousands of post offices across the nation. And General Motors will close thousands of auto dealerships everywhere.

Till we get people back working again there will be no significant changes in the economy that I can see.

It has a ripple effect. People with jobs spend and that helps other businesses to survive. And then they in turn hire more people.

I hear talk of a 4th unemployment benefit extension maybe coming.

But Congress will not work on it till they come back from their August vacation. And even then there is talk that they are quibbling about money being spent on this because of the trillions of debt we are in.

So don’t hold your breath.

But till there are more jobs out there we need a 4th benefit extension to keep people from winding up under a bridge. In fact the way things are going they may even need a 5th one.

Carol of CA @ Aug 07, 2009 19:24:45 PM

seems hopeless

lets face it they will tell you anything to get elected but it is a fact that they dont care if we loose are homes or cant find a job if they would of just put sum money in the pockets of taxpayers they love to spend are money helping bail out everybody but the people who really need it us the people on unemployment it is a shame we can give billions away to banks in yes we get stuck footing the bill what has this world come to when we cant take care of are own people americans we built this world we will die for it where is are bail out

sadden of FL @ Aug 05, 2009 14:13:42 PM

Unemployment Insurance System is Outdated.

The Unemployment Insurance system is outdated.

It is designed for layoffs during normal times.

Well these are not normal times.

We are experiencing one of the worst times since the 1929 depression.

Just giving the unemployed a 26 week regular benefit and 7 or 13 weeks of extended benefits does not hack it.

Soon they run out of these few weeks of benefits and are right back were they started and facing losing their homes and starving to death.

Then they must hope and pray Congress gets in gear soon enough to pass another benefit extension before the unemployed wind up under a bridge somewhere.

Most Americans would rather be working then collecting unemployment.

But when there are no jobs to speak of they have no other choice.

There is not much chance of being hired when hundreds of people apply for one opening. Or when businesses like GM or Chrysler Corporation fold up and close dealerships across the nation. Or when jobs are outsourced to foreign countries. The Unemployment Insurance system needs an overhaul.

They need to bring the system into the 21 Century.

Contact your Congressmen, Assemblymen and President Obama and voice your opinion on this issue.
