Sarah Palin's Suits: Dressing for the Job

Back to blog

Appropriate "uniform"

Palin was in appropriate "uniform" for service she rendered to our country. International Image is important and our fashion industry is an INDUSTRY that creates jobs and provides increases in our Gross National Product. I hope that donations received from auctioning those suits provide an even greater service by giving income to worthy charities. Palin in 2012!!!

the suit is "killing it"!

I just want to know where I can find the black suit worn when she had her speed meeting with foreign diplomats about a month ago for the opening of the U.N. General Assembly. It looks like a silk chantung with accordian pleat trim. LOVE IT! I don't see it anywhere on neimanmarcus.com or saks.com.

Clothing #@???

I completely agree... what is this about clothing and how much it cost ??? There are other more important things to worry about. BESIDES... what is this about the media sending out negative signals about the Republicans (most of the time...), aren't they supposedly to be neutral and non bi-partisan? So much about giving the people the truth... Isn't the Democrats also spending millions and who know trillions... what did they do to those $$$ ??? Maybe a coverage of the Democrats expenses ... how about that ?

the "real America" doesn't shop at Nieman Marcus

No one would care if Palin bought the clothes for herself and admitted she liked expensive clothes (well, maybe a little--Edwards, Clinton, and others have all taken hits for expensive haircuts), but to walk around with her salt-of-the-earth, I'm just a hockey mom who cares about working class people, and have a political committee give you a credit card to pick out some appropriate clothes--and she spends over $70,000 at one store!

$5,000 for her husband

700 at a baby store.

I volunteer for a non-profit that sells high-end used and new clothes. This year we had $60,000 worth of brand new, designer clothes--we made $5,000 on them. Dresses that sold for over $1,000 brought in $25.00. Or are the $3,000 jackets going directly to homeless people--so they can dress for success on their job interviews?

I think a poor person would rather have a month's rent, or good schools for their kids, or their car fixed than a $3,000 jacket.

and to Darlene, above, politco actually looked at the financial reports (which is where they found Palin's shopping spree) for McCain, Obama, and Biden and they weren't having someone else pay for their clothes.

Palin / Fashion

Presenting ourselves well is

Ver important. It really does not matter what Ms. Palin does and / or doe snot do she will be criticized.

To John McCain from Joe the Plumber - how to spend $150,000 wisely - hire a constitutional tutor for Sarah Palin.

Cheaper Than A Brain Transplant!

They should have spent $150,000 on tutoring instead of a new wardrobe. Because nothing says "I'm not part of the Washington Elite" like a $75,000 Neiman Marcus shopping spree. And anyway, she may look cute, but she sounds really stupid.

But then again, with 2 weeks to go, I guess it's easier to make her over than to smarten her up.

PALIN

She would be HOT in $15.00 worth of clothing... who really cares... she could save the country that amount of money at breakfast. Why doesn't the media look at all of the candidates expenses in detail and from where the money is coming.

Poor Media

The poor media is at a loss for things to do. Most of the media leans to the left, so they're going to bring up as much garbage as they can on Palin. If they tried, they probably could bring up stupid stuff about Mrs(I'm finally proud of America)Obama, or Biden. But they won't because the media is too liberal to dig in their own septic tank. As for you who think this Presidential race is a black vs white thing, GET A LIFE! I don't want Obama for my President for numerous reasons. Look at the no-gooders that he has been hanging around with, he's accepted money from, admired and been chummy with some real Anti-American people. Look at his pastor(I personally don't regard him as a pastor, but Obama did)of over 20 years. He only quit that church/pastor after it started hurting him in the polls. Obama swore allegiance to Africa while a member of Wright's church and this is who you want for your President? I want a person who has loved this country all their life and who has sworn allegiance to the USA, and not some foreign country.

It none of our business. How about doing some real journalism and focus on things that really matter!
