Fiorina's Non-Gaffe: Could McCain or Palin Do Your Job?

Back to blog

No, they can't

What are you people smoking? No...they can't do my job.

They can't be a systems programmer anytime soon without years of training.

The can't perform a simple tonsil operation without years of medical school training.

These leaders have not been trained in the micro operations of the country. They may be well qualified to handle most executive and managerial responsibilities, simply because there is some crossover in leadership skills between the two disciplines.

I hate when people irrationally rant and claim to represent my state. News flash: All of Ohio isn't like you! Geezsh.

What's funny, if you weren't so biased and closed minded, you'd conclude that McCain/Palin is the best choice if you did your research. Too bad these "thinkers" are such shallow thinkers.

Education Matters

Obama came from an impoverished background to become President of the Harvard Law Review. That's the kind of intellectual drive and acheivement (and the correct field for government) to qualify one for President. Going through 4 schools and ecking out a BA in journalism isn't. Nor is being an admirals son, and somehow getting in the US Naval Academy and then graduating near the bottom of his class. Wake up people. There are great differences in intellect and ability. Clearly McCain and Palin are far behind Obama and Biden. You saw what happened already with Bush the C student, and with Clinton the Rhodes scholar. Lets go back to having someone intelligent making the better choices for all of us.

Honesty. Is that a bad thing?

Carly Fiorina, who I worked with at AT&T many moons ago, is more honest than any of the "readers" commenting in this space. Like Ben Sona, a Obama operative, not a "republican in Ohio" as he prentends to be. I can't say anything about the honesty behind comments from mhurst of ca, but I can't see the motive of his/hers/its anger toward Carly. Weird. Both of these obvious Obama supporters trying to do a spin job. How much are you guys getting paid?

Difference between Fiorina and Romney is obvious...one has political ambitions (Romney) and one doesn't. Surprise, surprise, surprise, Gomer, Fiorina had her business cap on when answering the question (perhaps designed to trip her up) whereas Romney had his political cap on. Her "political" error was answering the question..."I'm not sure," would have sufficed. Of course, this is a political campaign. But come on, now, would Romeny indeed hire either Palin or McCain to run a business...maybe, many factors would go into the decision, but most likely it is not likely. All much to do about nothing more than politics...and that is why you won't see Fiorina in the media. It is a smart PR move to keep her away from the press in a major spokesperson capacity.

Mike Wallace Give it a rest!

Mike do you really live in Ohio, you don't see the loss of jobs and damage that goes on here especially over the last 8 years?

For God's sake wake up and look at your pink slip. My party has failed miserably and now they want 4 more years?

No way, no how, no old timer McCain running my country.

You partisan voters are so hot for any Republican, you would rather sink Ohio more into the mud.

Maybe we all deserve the pain we get in Ohio. Let's all vote for a old man who is clueless and bought by corporations. Oh yeah, that will reopen our factories.

Buch of fools!

Uh...

Carly must have forgotten that she isn't capable of running a large company either. After destroying Lucent and nearly destroying H-P, she is clearly in no position to analyze anyone's skills.

Hopefully, McCain has the same sense that H-P's board did...

Fiorinal is aTypical McCain Partner

I know many ex-HP empoloyees. HP used to be a fantastic company, highly profitable with real concern about its employees that arose from its famous founders. Fiorina ran HP into the ground. She laid off 15,000 and said she was sorry she didn't lay off even more. She was fired for inequitable conduct after it was learned that she was spying illegally on her Board of Directors. Why McCain wants her to be his surrogate is not surprising. He chose as his chief financial advisor Phil Gramm, ex-Texas Senator and,Enron lobbyist who fought bitterly against any oversight of Wall St. and about the economy , Gramm called Americans a bunch of whiners. Perhaps one of McCain's weakest points is that he has poor judgment when it comes to picking his circle of advisers and allies. That is a key leadership skill he does not have. Did I mention the Karl Rove gang, Sarah Palin?

Carly is an idiot!

Why is this women even on TV?

All of Wall Street hates her. Every sensible businessperson thinks she is worst CEO ever who was fired for her inability to manage.

She also received 40 million for her termination per contract.

She is McCain's go to person for business issues?

McCain is a train wreck, stop him anyway you can.

Craziest Thing...

How the GOP continues to insist that she is prepared to be VP and potentially POTUS is truly laughable. And if Carly thinks all of Sarah's "executive experience" should not qualify her to run a company, what does that say about her small town mayor experience being relevant to running the country; or being able to see Russia from Alaska as a prerequisite to foreign policy. The uproar should be against those who perpetuate the myth that she is qualified, not against Fiorina for speaking whats obvious to so many others.

So What ARE The Qualifications For President?

Let's accept the premise then, and ask the important question.

I'm willing to bet we get pure hogwash as the answer.

Or a simple punt admitting that the position is just a figurehead fronting for the real bosses.
