Fiorina's Non-Gaffe: Could McCain or Palin Do Your Job?

Back to blog

fiorina was wrong

the issue is about being on-message, which she was clearly not. her job is not to be factually true, it is to be on-message. she really screwed up.

YK of CA @ Sep 17, 2008 15:59:35 PM

No frickin' chance

We've already seen how McCain runs businesses. He runs them into the ground. He spent years in Washington deregulating the very businesses and corps. that are now the recipients of billions in taxpayer bailouts.

If we're dumb enough to vote for these chowderheads, we deserve everything we get.

Palin's Baby

Palins baby is so ugly, who would want to see that kid running around the whitehouse lawn for the next four years.

rosa of MN @ Sep 17, 2008 15:27:37 PM

Yeah, but...

Your article makes sense, logically. Really, though, it's not whether what Fiorina said is true or not. It's that she said it. It was a stupid thing to say and it was said in a stupid way.

BTW, Fiorina couldn't run HP herself. You know what song they played through the halls when she left the company that she helped run into the ground? "Ding, dong, the witch is dead!" No joke, ask any HP employee.

James of ID @ Sep 17, 2008 15:15:07 PM

"my only regret at HP is that I didn't cut even more jobs"

That a quote from the great Carly Fiorina.

Take your 40 million in blood money and get lost. This women can't seem to find a second career.

Her try at sportscaster for politics has failed much like the disaster at Lucent under her watch.

I know plently of former stockholders still hurting from that one.

Carly Fiorina's business comments and education

Well, Carly couldn't run HP but she left with a golden parachute of millions, you know the golden parachute that Palin says she will eliminate as she reforms Washington. Come on. Neither McCain or Palin can even run their campaign. It is a sad commentary when the American voter views a highly educated candidate (Obama) who went to Columbia and Harvard on his qualfications as an elitist. Come on again. Obama has run his campaign, he has been the best CEO we've seen for many years. It took Palin to attend five schools to earn her B.A. or B.S. (probably the latter). McCain graduated at the bottom of his class.

Why wouldn't the voter want a smart, intelligent President who looks at all sides of the issues rather than one who has his/her own agenda.

Pot and Kettle

I'd rather have McCain running HP than Fiorina running the USA.

I'm pretty sure that throwing away American jobs (not just trading manufacturing jobs for higher tech jobs, mind you) in the name of globalization with favor is recognized as unpatriotic.

Yup, Carly's demonstrated level of patriotism is too low to serve as dogcatcher, in my opinion.

If McCain endorses globalization and equates it to throwing a vast swath of Americans, college-educated or not, out of work, I think he'll turn himself into a sure loser.

C'mon, John - let's see an even bigger gaffe than Carly's...

DisFisCon of MI @ Sep 17, 2008 14:46:43 PM

What company would hire him???

I cannot think of any company that would be willing to hire McCain to manage anything. Think about it... would you really hire him for your company?

His lack of education, lack of interest in technology, lack of public speaking ability, his obstinance, his very abrasive personality and his hot tempered disposition would be some of the "disqualifiers".

All of the POW stories in the world would not convince me to hire him... therefore, he will not have my vote.

JR of GA @ Sep 17, 2008 14:39:55 PM

Fiorina is Honest-Yeah Right!

OK BAP, so now I'm an Obama operative - wow you know everything.

Of course you worked side-by-side with Carly who has 10's of millions of dollars, of course.

Why else would a top level executive like you BAP be on a website like this?

And what does an idiot from NJ know about anything in Ohio. Take a hike you phoney.

You might have worked with an Italian women in NJ but it wasn't Carly. The only way that would happen is if you were cleaning her toilet at the offices.

Ben Sona - Citizen of Ohio (whether you beleive me or not) of @ Sep 17, 2008 14:39:24 PM

Really?

mmhurst:

So you really, honestly think McCain could be a competent software developer given that he's admitted to not even being able to use a computer? Really??
