Who Really Pays for Paid Sick Leave?

Back to blog

It's part of the "nothing is free" thing, right? There's recently been some blog flap with a cafe in Arlington, where they wouldn't serve an iced espresso, partly because the owner thinks that people "abuse" it. In understanding that, I heard about the "ghetto latte", in which people apparently pour themselves a full glass of the "free" milk, intended to be used a couple of teaspoons at a time in one's coffee. Yes, well... what really happens is that the store's cost for milk is ultimately shared by all its customers in the form of higher prices.

Very much related.
