Wenn Sie bis jetzt nur ein gewinnbringenden Wirtschaftsmark waren , stellen sie jetzt ihre Forderungen, die meisten sind noch fit und gebildet genug um noch einige Jahre weiter zu arbeiten.

Ein Weg der Gemeinsamkeit wäre die Erfahrung, die Ausdauer und die Verbundenheit zum Job sich zu nutzen zu machen.

In meinem Land ( Deutschland) werden ab 2010 die Arbeitlosenzahlen sinken, ich gehe soweit, um zu sagen in 4-5 Jahren steuern wir auf ein Arbeitskräftemangel zu.

Warum nicht jetzt schon, die Qualität der jetzigen Pensionäre nutzen, und denen

Arbeit geben die noch arbeiten wollen

Age perception by others

Frequently I hear people who are not as old as I am (66) say things like "I'm too old," or "my brain is asleep." or on and on and on. I believe that is why so many people dread getting older, and also why the senior population is disfavored within the US. If aging people think they're old, or if they sit on their hiney doing nothing but getting fat and dumb, someone please tell them to learn to keep their months shut.

Most employers truly believe that is not rentable to hire old workers for many reasons, from less physical capacity to perform the job to obsolescent the cumulus of knowledge gathered throuh the years. Also they fear that an old worker will not adapt to the methods and procedures of the company, mainly oriented to achieve more production in lesser time.

Most trades and professions require continous revisions of the new technologies but basically all thechnological evolution is only in the forms and methods to reach a goal, not in the basis, so in order to increase production they will hire young poorly trained (with tremendous intelectual lagoons) people that will cost them less and do things faster obtaining only at first good redits, no matter if quality and State of the Art is sacrified. The result is the desprestige of american fabricated goods, people then will rather buy a made in Japan than an american made car just as an example.

Workforce50.com, formerly the SeniorJobBank.org is another resource for the older worker. A key feature of Workforce50.com is that the employers advertising are truly interested in tapping into this talent pool. It is important for job seekers to maximize their time and use sites where the jobs are focused on their demographic. A recent review of another site purporting to serve the older/retired worker uncovered a job posting by the Army for an Infantryman. Give me a break!

What this country needs is both large and small business employers realizing the value of the Boomer and older generation. And making a concerted effort to recruit from their ranks. Employers are welcome to contact should they desire to discuss this in more detail.

The Wiser Worker Story

In June of 2007 we started planning the 1st Annual National Employ the Older Worker Job Fair Series honoring the Department of Labor’s older worker programs. We consulted with Department of Labor and The AARP Foundation to ensure the events were created and formatted so that the older worker would get the most out of the event. Employmentguide.com is one of the only job boards that’s listed on the Department of Labors Resource Page. When the last event was held we had hosted over 47 job fairs in 40 states in over 6 weeks, when our events were attended by over 40,000 job seekers.
