Helpful link

Interesting point, LC. I'm posting a link to a Bankrate piece that should explain the taxation of unemployment benefits for those that may not know the details:

I'll just be giving it back

The tax rebate won't help me a bit as i'll just have to give it back to them. i was unemployed for eight months last year. i drew unemployment benefits and when you are relying on that alone for your income you need every penny you get. i chose not to have taxes withheld and now i am paying for it. why doesn't the government and state do away with having to pay taxes on unemployment benefits? after all, most people would rather be working and making a decent wage than having to live on a fraction of that.
