Greedy Realtors?

No one can buy a house they cannot afford. If they can get a loan for the house, they ostensibly can afford it. It's amazing, the mythology about Realtors and real estate. Does anybody really believe that a Realtor can sell a $500,000 house--by his/her sheer sales ability, not to mention the greed--to someone who is qualified financially to buy a $350,000 house?

Greedy Realtors

A Joe Realtor,ah do you think you also caused this mess by upselling to people who could not even come close to being able to afford the home YOU wanted to show them?

of course everyone wants the Lexus when they pull up in a Yugo!, come on keep it real.

show what they CAN afford not whet you think they can afford.

Realtor to mlimberg

Sure you don't need a Realtor to buy a house. It just makes it easier.

Downpayment Requirements

It is imperative that accurate information be distributed by the media. There is a responsibility for all of us to play a part in recovery and that includes the media. Any and all articles giving financial advice should be fact checked by volunteer industry leaders to ensure the information getting to the public is accurate.

I understand the media has a right to express their opinions, however they also have an obligation to represent the facts.

Media is just reporting what Govt officias say

I am closing on a house this month with 5% FHA mortgage with 3.5 pct down. My payment wil be less than 15% of income, but it can be done. Credit crunch is in investment banks. They don't trust each other.
