The 10 Cities Most Safe From Natural Disasters

Safe?!

We may not have tornadoes but we sure do have earthquakes and a constant lava floe, as well hurricanes and tsunamis! I wouldn't even come close to saying we are one of the safest states. But..... I still love my Hawaii ;)

Tucson, AZ

Ice age would not get us. No hurricanes, too hilly for tornadoes, flooding, other than flash floods is no problem. Other than water problems, here would be a great place to ride out any major problems. Only place I can think that might be better would be somewhere like Silver City, NM. Naturally sustainable and remote.

Colorado Springs

Springs is a great city, however I am surprised that Albuquerque (my home town) did not make the list.

Colorado Springs

One more reason to live in Colorado Springs. It really is a beautiful city, and now we're safe from natural disasters, too! While we do get our share of lightning and hail in the summer afternoons, the sun always seems to shine through. See http://www.colorado-springs-vacation.com/colorado-springs-weather.html for more on Colorado Springs weather.

Springs, Colorado

We have lived in many places throughout the world, and when we finally decided to settle down for a "quiet" retirement, we choose Colorado Springs. We like the climate and the change of seasons, and even the SNOW!!! Our last home was at 9000 ft above sea level in the Rockies, and though it too was a fairly safe spot, the altitude really slowed us down, and the winters were something to talk about for years to come, with the huge snowfalls that lasted from late August to late May! Though there were 4 seasons, 3 of them were all from June to August and only weeks long at best.

what about sydney

I live here for a reason

Besides despising the cold I live in Phoenix for that very reason.

Mother Nature tends to cast a friendly eye on my place in Phoenix.

In the 40+ years I have lived in this area, even the worst Nature threw at me was a mere annoyance.

I tend to try to discourage people from moving here with tales of brutal heat stories, but with tens of thousands of foreclosed homes worth half of what the morons paid for them, it's a pretty good place to move to if you are tired of living in one of the bottom 10 cites.
