They are securing an approach to her house. Just as land based Secret Service agents stopped a guy from driving by Obama's house earlier in the week. This guy, a felon, had a pistol and a bullet proof vest in the vehicle. He was also drunk about 5 AM (Chicago bars can stay open until 4 AM in the week and 5 AM Fri and Sat). He probably had no idea of the particular street he was on. Still, Obama's family got federal protection.

Coast Guard

Hey Jerk. If you got Secret Service protection, like your Missiah B. Hussein Obama, you get Coast guard protection. Larry L. Moore, YNC Retired, 25 years USCG. Why do these mags/newspapers/whatever let these idiots with no military experience write on these subjects?

What a vapid non-story. Next you'll be writing about Palin being able to see her breath in the cold Alaskan air...

Coast Guard Protection for VP

I was in the Coast Guard from 1975 - 1979 and was stationed on the Coast guard Cutter Bridle out of Sowthwest Harbor, Maine. I spent many, many hours camped in front of the Vice president Nelson Rockefeller's summer home in Seal Harbor whenever he was present. This is standard SOP, just like secret service detail, and has been for many years.
