practice what you preach Mary Aynik

Yea you should know about getting stuff given to you and being a greedy bastard...explain what you did to YOUR kids. It was all about YOU all the time while you bought high price crap for yourself and let your kids run around with holes in their clothes. Did you enjoy using their support money for your new car and college? Yea I thought so.

Values

Free money is rarely a blessing. If you work for it, it has value

and you respect it and usually tend to be more responcible. If its given to you it has no value therefore it is easy to gamble with it. The only money that ever helped me and my struggling family came from the sweet of my brow.

Give em fish, cripple them and their children for life by teaching dependancy. Don't give them a pole but teach them how to make one and you will endow them and their children with the most valuable gift you can give your children, The ability to be SELF SUFFICENT. Free stuff is poison. You gotta give more than you take or you'll always want more, never have enough, and never be satisfied. Eternally thirsty.

Awesome Cause

I have a family member who needs a transplant. Individuals like you are so sad. You are making alot of efforts to cloud the issue here. The effort is to help others. What is your problem. You are starting to cause all sorts of unnecessary confusion for no reason. Did you take the time to find out how this help would come about? Did anyone ask you for anything such as money or what ever. You simple minded woman you act as though someone should always stay on their back if they are down. Is it wrong to try to bring joy to others? You are just unbelieveable.May God bless you in all the destruction you are trying to create. Did you read the article you posted. Call Extreme Makeover yourself there were no taxes paid for 25 years. I truly believe God has his hand on this family so you just continue to be a trail blazer of destruction.

Fundraiser

Is this family having a fundraiser to help raise the money to get their home back? I received a call from a woman today who lives in Georgia stating that the Harper Family is having a fundraiser for transplant patients to provide them with money to assist with medical expenses.

I was suspicious so I looked the Harper Family up online and found this article.

ubeliveable

this is so redicoulous. These people got a house for free and then got a mortgage on it for a business.I have no symphathy for these people as they dug their own grave. They could have gotten a regular business loan and put some other colateral also they must have had an income before and did not have a mortgage payment at the time.NUMBER ONE RULE IN BUSINESS NEVER USE YOUR DAM HOUSE!

Who and What did the home go for

I know the home went to auction, but who bought the home and for how much?

Thanks for making me see clearly

When I first read the article, I fell into the typical media trap of believing emotionally what the writer leads you to feel. Thanks to Eric and Mike for seeing beyond the bitter content supplied, and feeling compassion no matter what the circumstance. Because case in fact is...we as readers do not know the full story, only what the writer & editor indulge. I will hopefully keep a like open mind in future readings!

extreme criticism

These people don't need judgementalism or criticism. They probably feel like crap without having people point their fingers to criticize and judge them on top of it.

They started a business. They were trying to make a living by starting that business and it failed. At least they tried to start their own business. How can anyone fault them for trying to be entreprenuers? How many times has Donald Trumps businesses gone into bankruptcy?

Get off your high horse self righteous judgemental attitudes people and show some compassion for a change. You are just jealous because it wasn't you that got the makeover!

Lessons in life

Some will be pissed because they will think (dream) of the possibility, and say that it was a huge waste and they would of never had let something like that happen. Then there are those who will simply pray for the family that lost this miraculous opportunity. Whichever group you fall into, or even if you have another view on this misfortune, everyone should be paying attention, because this is just another lesson in life. Keep your senses focused on where you are at, what you are doing, who could you be helping right now, why you are where you are at, how you can make a positive change for everyone, and when will you tell someone 'thanks for being there for me'. Do not make history, be a part of it!
