Re: Donnie of FL

You are right, I am not gay, nor do I ever want to be. As for my daughter, by the time she is old enough to marry, you will have died of some horrible disease resulting from anal sex with a man. I won't have to worry about you wanting to marry her or anyone else for that matter.

The error in your comment is that I in fact DO have a right to share my beliefs with the world. That's the beauty of free speech. No one here is truly an "expert" at anything in life. God is the maker, and He is the expert. I don't claim to be.

He gives us free will, but he also has rules and laws because free will could take us anywhere. We just have strayed away from his rules and laws.

I am not pompous, nor do I boast about being "sinless". I am not sinless, but I do try to SIN LESS each day of my life. If you are gay, that is your choice (free will again), and I pray that your eyes are open to the error of your ways, and you repent to God.

I don't hate you, or any other gay, I just don't like how this agenda is being pushed as a civil rights matter (you choose to become gay, you don't choose your skin color). I also don't believe that marriage should be redefined, because that is the very foundation of society. People marry for wrong reasons, and of course don't understand the sanctity of marriage, so they don't need to get married regardless.

I hope you understand me clearly, and take the time to really search yourself and the bible to make sure you are not just jumping on a bandwagon that leads to hell because "the world" says its okay and that they accept you.

Peace!

To "Well Allen"

Actually God gave every person a free will. He made and designed us in his image, and through sin in the world, we have all strayed away from his original design.

Not saying that God did not bless you with twins, but at the same time, God does not condone your homosexuality. It's against his will and natural order. So sometimes things happen that are a result of choices we make, and God is bound by his law (free will).

Those twins may grow up and bring you out of homosexuality, and God says all things work together for good.

I'm not bashing gays, but I cant sit here and just accept your lifestyle as right because you and the world says its right. Its not right, and neither is murder or stealing or lying or heterosexuals committing fornication (sex or lust) outside of marriage. We all have come short of God's glory, need to repent (turn away from) our wicked ways, seek God's face, and he will heal our land.

If the US continues down this path, God will have no choice but to destroy us like Sodom and Gomorrah. I pray that one day your eyes will be opened, and you will see the error of homosexuality.

"its in the Bible" Hey, I've read it as well!

Someone wrote:

"In the BIBLE. It's one man and one woman. Period. Not party A and party B. This Country was founded by Christians and then the Constitution was written by them. Why do we allow politicians that are left wing extremists the courtesy of trying to re-write it with rulings that go against what the people of our country really want?"

Two points:

1. In the bible (the Gideon one), which I decided to read, it states that you ought to marry your dead brother's wife and make sure to have children with her. (even if you are already married!) THAT is NOT one man and one woman.

That is only one example of many of the strange advice given in Leviticus. READ THE WHOLE CHAPTER. Please don't eat shellfish anymore because they are also an "abomination" just like a man lying with another man.

Genesis talks early on all about what to do with your slaves and who can become your slave. Do you think its ok to have slaves?

Wow, if I have sex with my future husband, that is just as awful in Leviticus as eating pork or shellfish. If you are going to be a fundie, then please don't pick and choose your passages. Go by the WHOLE book.

2. This country's laws are not bound by the bible. Our country is a republic NOT a theocracy. Iran is a theocracy. Gay people are put to death there under the law. No one is keeping you from moving to that homophobic "garden state".

Our elected legislature in CA voted two years in a row for same sex marriage. The legislature represents the will of the people in a Republic. But our Gov. chose to veto those bills.

I love THIS country. I vote, I pay taxes, I volunteer in a hospital - I am a full citizen. I will be married on July 2nd.

You can still hate me and my partner but it at least it won't be legal to discriminate against us.

Dear No One to Judge

You stated "i am no one to judge but i just have to ..say

its unatural"

I dare say that same sex have and do exist in nature itself and therefore cannot be unnatural unless you are saying that Zebra's for example which are but one of a dozen different species that have same sex.

Take religion of any kind out of this arguement. It's about being treated equally as a person and not anything else. I for one am going to marry my partner in California and it's not an afront to whatever God or Gods you believe in.

Allen from my own state of Michigan. Read leviticus. Did you know the bible states eating pork is an abomniation...but you like bacon.. hmmm maybe we need to take away or prevent you having any human rights based on that. I have another idea, you see women dressing in mens clothing ie: jeans etc are also an abomination oh well guess no more breeder babies.

Think for yourself and read for youself.

Patience

God is not vengeful or wrathful. Most likely God is bored, seeing so much time pass and many human creatures acting no different than insects.

Could God be disappointed then? No. God is knowing and patient. There is all of eternity yet.

The biblical stories of David and Jonathan, Naomi and Ruth show part of God's plan.

God patiently waits for the development of a perfected heart in people who desire to understand.

God surely delights in seeing more people CHOOSE to love and share that love with another. For some, that CHOICE leads to the next. CHOOSING to love all and by this, to love God.

Basic Bible

The main teachings can be summed up as:

1) Love

2) Charity

3) Forgiveness

4) Understanding

5) Compassion

6) Tolerance

For those of you who believe that marriage can be 'defended' by banning it, read #1 - #6 above.

The Bible

Reading these comments...I am so sick of this ridiculous book I could puke. I was raised a Christian but all my adult life I have heard the bible used against others by smug churchgoers so self-righteous in their belief they know best. Enough! Obviously the bible is not worth a hill of beans or it wouldn't be wielded as a mean tool of judgment. If that's what god wants then god is a jerk.
