Bailout Explained?

Maybe the Feds and politicos want to bail the homeowners out because they feel partially responsible for the fall of the dollar.

HAHAHAHAHA! Like they would ever admit to that.

I'm 25 yrs old and bought my house at 24. My income throws me in the middle class American bracket and I am whole heartedly against the use of my tax dollars to bailout risk takers (Oh wait they would just print more money.). I work my butt off to pay for my house, my bills and my lifestyle. How dare the Govt bail out those who aren't responsible enough to live within their means. How dare the Govt bail out those who would rather blame the Govt for the problems in their lives.

Ugh...My beloved America is falling from grace.

RE: publius of MA

What you are saying is exactly what Ron Paul has proposed. He has come out and said that the welfare state cannot just be shut off. This is why he is so vehement about cutting all of the foreign aid and pulling our military back from it's bases all around the world. The money that is spent on empire - literally trillions of dollars of it - should be spent on the people at home, and not as an increase in welfare as some people have tried to slant it - but as a stopgap to avoid national financial meltdown - and to wean people slowly off the system.

I have followed Ron Paul for a few years now - and I fully support him. Unfortunately I do not see any signs that there is a big enough majority of people in this country who want to hear the message. I have gotten to the point where I believe that the only thing that stands any chance of fixing this countries' problems is a total and complete meltdown - riots in the streets, food shortages, govt. tyranny - maybe that boot kicking you in the back of the head will wake you up. Until then I watching the whole thing like the big circus that it is. I would like to avoid chaos - but at the same time it appears to be the only thing that is going to work to bring this country around.

Housing Bailout

When my husband and I bought our house some 20 years ago, we could have afforded, and could have qualified for, a house that cost 3 times as much as the one we bought. Instead, we conservatively bought a modest but nice home. Today, we are very close to completely paying off the mortgage.

We get very angry at the idea of bailing out people who took a risk, bit off more than they can chew, and are now losing their homes to foreclosure. Where was their common sense? And my tax dollars are going to bail them out? Ron Paul is the only person in national politics who speaks any sense.

Elitist Politicians

Here we have tax time when all responsible Americans are paying their taxes.

If you don't pay your taxes, then there will be a number of penalties hung around your neck including interest, penalties or confiscation of your property.

Here goes Congress and the Fed, stealing that money for the benefit of big business.

America needs to stand up and stop these bailouts. When the immigration bill was discussed, millions of Americans got on the phone and sent emails to Congress to stop it. This worked and now they need to be sent a message to stop these bailouts.

This is corporate welfare and the country can not afford it.

Pain ahead

As the big guys cash out by the little guys tax dollars bailing them out (Bear Sterns) the little guy is left to die in a ditch. Milk is going up, Bread, gas, tolls etc as jobs get outsourced and layoffs increase. Bet you can now guess how this is going to end. Answer look at my name.

Ron is Right but,

we have a wolf in the hen house.

Attempts at regulation will only create more problems as long as the Federal Reserve remains unregulated. It's like trying to drive a finely tuned and mechanically conditioned car with a loose steering wheel. You are going to eventually crash.

You can't create a population that thinks it is safe because of regulation and let a wolf run lose unless your intent is to provide fodder for the wolf.

The government is not supposed to regulate anything. It does not have the right to regulate anything. Regulation is the basis for Socialism.
