Countywide

I too was swindled by Countrywide. With a 12% fixed rate, requested a interest rate reduction, got a modification that kept the 12% but was lucky enought to have them increase my monthly payment. My account was screwed up from day one. Initially went with Castle Point was advised first payment was in March. Got a letter from Countrywide late February advising I was late and requested two months of payments. Explained again and again to deaf ears. Now over 2 years later they are kind enought to have 20 - 30 day lates on my credit while the entire time I have been making the monthly payment on time.

Something must be done to this company. In their wisdom they gave all that money to the banks who in turn did not disburse to any customers but modified their loans, with the same rate, and increased their monthly payments. What they should have done was to immediately place an interest rate cap on loans. So what if the banks lost money. They could have been provided a form to recoup from the government instead of them just giving out millions upon millions and not requesting, sorry, demanding detail on where the funds went.

If there is a law suit I too would like to be added to the list.

Countrywide

I called countrywide today 1/26/09 to see about lowering my payments.Because I was laid off from work. The woman I talked to told me there was no plan for me with the mortgage I have. And I asked what kind did I have. She said you have a fixed rate mortgage. So what I want to know is am I being discrimanated against because I have a fixed rate mortgage. Why would they want someone to lose their house because they got laid off?

Predatory Lending

I too am a victim of Countrywide. All I wanted was to refinance for a fixed rate mortgage. They would'nt give me a mortgage unless I reported my income and prifit sharing and all assets from my insurance policies in addition to taking out a second mortgage to pay down my bills. At the time I was able to afford all of my bills and my mortgage which was confusing to me that they would want me to do that. Since then I have lost my job and have liquidated all of my assets to pay my mortgages and bills. I have been making payments although they have been late and I couldn't pay the late fees. Now I have come to find out that they have taken the money and put it in some sort of account and not towards paying off my mortgage. I called them to try to make some kind of arrangement but they won't talk to me untill I get a job. I am 60 years old and am now facing foreclosure. HELP!!!!! I thought I was doing the right thing to pay my mortgage in good faith instead I may now be homeless and lose my home....

Help!

I have tried and tried to work with countrywide for loan modifications etc. They have taken my mortgage payments and applied them to old tax bills that were supposedly added to the life of my mortgage; leaving my monthly mortgage to appear as if it is not being paid and compounding balances of "unpaid" monthly payments resulting in foreclosure status. WHAT?!? I am paying towards my mortgage! Countrywide paid old taxes that were granted into a loan modification! I need to keep my home. I am a school teacher and I have two babies and my husband just got rehired. Can anyone help me? I want to keep my home and pay my mortgage, but this compounding to where it's logically impossible is threatening us with loosing our home.

NO help

I have ARM with Countrywide. due to a work injury I had to take some time off and advised them AHEAD of time of my upcoming difficulty to pay my mortgage, their answer" until you are 30 days late, there is nothing we can do". After 30 days, of course, in order for them to help me, I had to pay the late fees! Tried several times to do loan modification, no answer. HOPE tried, no answer, Paid a third party, still no answer (but they did charge me 1 year ahead of time for my taxes!). Please include me in the lawsuit. I am currently in default and almost in foreclosure. I am seeking an attorney, if anyone can refer me to an HONEST one, count me in.

cant get a straight answer. HELP

I am writing this letter to try to get an answer, help or guidance on how I can prevent my family from becoming homeless because of Countrywide. Let me explain. I have an adjustable loan with Countrywide Home Loans. I was recently divorced and had some problems keeping up with my mortgage. On December, 2006 I was put on a repayment plan with Countrywide. The agreement was to pay $1500.00 in December of 2006, and $1425.00 for the next 6 months, to be paid on the 15th of every month. I paid the $1500.00 religiously. July of 2007 I called Countrywide to see what happens next, I was told I was assigned a new Case Worker , that they will contact me with in the next week. No calls. I called again, I was told I was assigned a new Case worker. I found in my many calls it is close to impossible to speak with your case worker and they change often.

I received a mortgage stub in the mail for the amount of 1589.00. I paid. June, July and September of 2007 I paid the $1589.00.

In October I received a letter from Countrywide stating I am behind on my payments. I called. Countrywide’s explanation was . “You were supposed to go into a Mod Agreement after the Repayment plan ended; therefore your payments were not applied to the mortgage”. At this time they did not know where were my last 4 payments. After many calls they informed me my payments were in loss prevention. Therefore, showing me late on my payments.

October 2007, Countrywide informs me they are investigating my case and in the meanwhile they will be putting me on a new payment plan. I was told do not to send in any money until they send me a new agreement. I am to sign it, notarize it and mail it back with $1500.00 and my income personal expenses etc. I contacted Countrywide weekly to check on the status of my mortgage I was told to check back next week it is still in the finance department waiting on approval.

Finally, I received the new contract. I signed it, notarized it and enclosed a check for $1500.00 like their asked. Sent in Federal express bi the due date of April 4th, 2008. When I called to find out where to send in my May payment, I was told I was in foreclosure. I explained the situation. Countrywide representative did not give me a solid answer only that she did not know and will have my case worker call me back. She only knew that it looks like they accepted my new contract. I called back the next day. Countrywide had a foreclosure and sale date of June 2008. And my payment of $1500.00 was returned to me. To date I have not received that payment.

In summary, I am now in foreclosure. Countrywide shows my account as being delinquent for months that I did send payments, eight months total. I can’t understand how a mortgage company can get away with this. I have tried to work something out. It’s not like I never sent them any money. In a matter of a few months, my loan from Countrywide has gone from owing them $140,000 to $177,000. They have added a total of over $35,000 to my loan. I have three children am a single parent who soon will have no place to go and no one to turn to.
